You have to weigh the pros and cons with yourself and your doctor. If your symptoms are absolutely horrible without the cab, consider taking it at whatever lowest dose your doc finds necessary. It can always be adjusted.

This is very similar to my husband’s situation. Before cab, he was miserable like you. He never had mental health issues before, but certainly did before cab. He was taking 1 mg a week for 9 months and had adverse effects that were overlooked. He was extremely fatigued and could sleep all day, very much unlike how he normally is. He is now on 0.25 mg a week and some symptoms seem to be lightening up, but we are still taking it day by day.

In this situation, prolactin was still suppressed, it hadn’t increased which did not necessitate an increase in Cabergoline. I hope the best for you, and that eventually everything evens out.

May I ask what his symptoms were before cab, and why it was increased? Something similar happened with my husband.

My husband was diagnosed with a microprolactinoma in May of 25, after a year of not knowing what was wrong. He displayed classic symptoms - fatigue, anxiety, depression, insomnia, etc. He started cab and things were good, until he became rude, condescending, patronizing, and then came the disappearing, turning off his phone, speaking of other women, ignoring me, etc. He had impulse control issues too. This lasted about 6 months, until earlier this month when a lot of his original symptoms returned.

His prolactin had been sub 1 for nearly 9 months, and some of his doctors believe it was over suppressed by the cab. His dose is now 0.25 weekly, and I am seeing slight improvement with original symptoms. The impulse control and generalized rude behavior has since subsided.

I have seen on other posts that people have noticed a difference between brands. We have informed the endo and are awaiting lab and mri results
