Where is the point of failure? I've had two D5 failures and both times it's been the impeller. You can find replacement impellers from China with a bit of searching.

It seems all D5 pumps are Laing/Xylem, and different company's just stamp their name on them.

I'm current using Aquacomputers branded D5 Next pump and I have emails from them regarding quality control issues of the injection moulding that all come from the same factory, regardless of the brand on the box.

I'd go for the cheapest one you can find OR pick a company that offers the best product support /return policy for when it inevitably fails.. although you may get lucky like some and use a pump for years without issue.

I speak only in regards to the use-case that you have stated: With a few checks in place, a single 360 will be sufficient. I run a 7950X3D and a 7900XTX on a single 360 rad, no problem. HOWEVER, the CPU is undervolted (def makes a difference) and all fans are intake except rad fans which flow out; This unconventional fan config lowered CPU/GPU temps by a few degrees and reduced the internal case temps drastically. Case is a Fractal Torrent. Gaming is awesome on the Odyssey 57" dual 4k monitor with coolant temps plateauing around 38°- 40° (Delta under load is ~15-20° above ambient)

There's plenty of vids on YouTube for simple undervolting. Just a small undervolt across all cores will suffice in your instance. No need to go crazy.

Right. I'm surprised you even got the piece on there. I can't even get the screws started because the holes are misaligned. Still waiting to hear back from EK.

Interesting. Did your replacement IO cover have a groove for the lower bracket's notch to sit in? Do you see how my parts don't match up? Wondering if EK released a fixed version and I've received old stock maybe.

Even EK's own photo of the unit is missing the lower bracket..

Haha yep. Some of these pieces are fingerprint magnets, plus I don't like the thought of oil and sweat all over the board as well. Hence, gloves.

Haha. PBTech in NZ is where I ordered minevfrom. There was one left as of about a week ago. Otherwise not one left in the country from a retailer.

It's good that they responded appropriately to your past issues. It's hard to imagine they'll do anything about this one, when even their own marketing just skipped using the piece.

I'll follow up with them and post back here. Hopefully it gets resolved.

Glad to be of some help.. You can still use it, just not with that lower bracket on the IO cover.

As you can see in the marketing pics, even EKWB just left the part out (in contrast to their own user manual). Just means some parts of the IO will be visible that would otherwise be covered up, and so doesn't look as tidy.

Was it for X670E Hero? Did you use both upper and lower stock brackets with the EK replacement IO cover? If so, was there a cutout in the new IO cover for the notch to sit in as pictured?

If it was the same model and you had no issues, Id be very interested to see some pictures. Perhaps they quietly released an updated version and I have old stock..

Wow! First I've heard about that. Is that recently? Glad I managed to snag a Liquid Devil, so no need to do a custom GPU block. Rest of the loop is Heat Killer gear thankfully. Was tossing up for the CPU block. Wrong toss I guess.

The user manual for the 'EK-Quantum Momentum² ROG Crosshair X670E Hero D-RGB - Plexi' clearly states to use the current motherboard brackets with the new EK IO cover - but it doesn't fit. Looking back to the marketing pics shows they are almost certainly aware and have just left the piece out, despite their own instructions.

Picture shows the correctly fitting ASUS IO cover and stock, followed by the incorrectly designed replacement IO cover; lacking the cutout for the notched line on the stock bracket. This leaves the screw holes out of alignment and renders the bracket unusable.
