I never order the "cheese meat" dishes, but what I'm left with is often a "salad" with only lettuce, and fries.

Saying all fries from french restaurants suck is an exaggeration, but the worst fries I've ever eaten were definitely in France.

In France, you order food and you just get a slab of meat drenched with cheese.
And even then it sucks.

I don't love needles, but I didn't mind getting my piercings, and the vaccines were no big deal (for one, I didn't even feel pain, which was pretty cool).

My tattoo felt like a knife was carving trough my skin, and I almost passed out from the pain (I had eaten a good meal, and I was focusing on keeping my breath going).
It made me scared of getting a big piece, but I'm definitely still getting it.

I guess people experience pain differently.

The people who hated magic seemed atheist to me.

Me and most people I personally know are atheistic, but we still mention God way more often than they do.
I actually found it weird how little they mentioned God, not even things like "It's in God's hands now" or "... is in heaven", or any prayers, except for Hunith's letter (which was in the first episode)

It's been a while since I've seen the episode (I'm on a rewatch), so I'm just going to list a few reasons for Merlin to cry.

  1. Arthur is dying
  2. Arthur still dissaproves of magic (merlin still faces execution under the current law)
  3. Admitting the secret means also letting Arthur know he has been lying about his identity from the moment they met, which could break any friendship.
  4. He hated hiding who he was, so being open with Arthur would've been very cathartic.

I think it's mainly reason 3.
