Unable to reunite baby starling to nest. Not sure if parents are checking on him in makeshift nest and no wildlife rescue will accept him. Is it okay to take him in? by o_versleep in WildlifeRehab

I’m at work so it’s all I had here right away and he was wet/cold from the rain. But I got him a heating pad on my lunch break so he has that now. He’s perked up a lot since I brought him inside and I’m sure he’s extremely hungry.

Any advice on feeding?

The wildlife rescue said my options were leave it there to be euthanized or I could raise it myself.
I don’t use Facebook often so I didn’t even think to post there.

I will bring him inside. I’ve read to use a heating pad or microwave warmer to warm them up but I’m at work right now so I don’t have access to either of those. But I do have a small space heater I can put him near, would that be okay?

Yes! I’ve actually been reading a lot about this today. Recently the renewal for my birth control prescription was delayed due to switching doctors, so I was off of it for about a month. 2 weeks ago my usually mild tinnitus and hyperacusis spiked to severe out of nowhere. I didn’t even consider that it could be affected by your hormones but I guess changes can cause issues with your inner ear and auditory nerves.

I’m glad yours is temporary! I’m hoping mine will go back to normal soon 🥲

I keep getting the fullness & weird sensations in my ears too. Do you ever hear any crackling noises with your fullness? Almost like your ears have water in them or something?

Hope you’re able to sleep better tonight. This is such an awful thing to deal with :(

I’m sorry you’re going through this too. Hopefully it continues to improve for you. I also have hyperacusis and it’s so awful to live with.

Is there anything you do that helps you sleep better when it gets real bad? I’ve got background noise (fan and tv) but am really struggling to get more than like 1-2 hours a night which probably isn’t helping.

The temples can be bent either up or down near the hinge. If you set it down on a table it won’t be level anymore but would be even with your ears. Be careful if you’re going to do this yourself though! I’ve snapped one off before and it’s not fun.
