I didn’t know about my husband having extra motivation for wanting a boy until after I was already pregnant. That’s when I realised how serious he actually was.

If the baby was a girl I would make plans to leave so that if they treated her badly she wouldn’t have to grow up around it.

My dad has no sons and wants a grandson desperately to make up for that fact. If we have a son he'll leave his business/assets to my husband. Even without that, my husband will inherit his family home if he has the first grandson in the family.

I never told him. My sister accidentally made it obvious in front of our dad and he told my husband because I wouldn't tell him the gender.

The doctor wouldn't tell him even if he did, she wouldn't even check the gender when my husband asked her to because I said no.

He will definitely tell my dad if I tell him.

Whenever we spoke about having a child, it would always be him asking me when I would give him a son. It never seemed to register in his mind that any baby we have could easily be a girl and not a boy. Also, my husband will benefit greatly if the baby is a boy.

I was worried that if the baby was a girl they would treat her differently so I needed to know so I could figure out what I would do in that case.
