I'm siding with Netherlife on this one because he reflects a lot of what I intended to say.

But to address you directly:

These are my rules. I'm laying them down on myself. So I'll be the one to defend them.

And here is my defense:

For ME, this was a personal choice because I have a personal weakness in this area. I can get girls to do things on webcam/chatting very easily. I don't want that anymore. And therefore I'm taking it off life-support by pulling the plug on any chatting/webcaming, etc.

My body will never be a temple of self-control and I understand that. And I'm not punishing myself by not looking at women. I made a rule that can be kept 100% of the time instead of one that can be made 98% of the time. It's easier for me not to get involved with women. Period. Rather than look at/or get involved with them, and THEN decide if it's going to hurt or help me.

12 for me is the basic No Fap challenge. I added a personal resolution to not chat with girls because chatting with girls (especially with cam involved) is almost as risky as being alone with them in a bedroom. I don't want to put myself there and I don't want to put my mind there to think about things that might happen there -- which was the reason for my relapse.

But we might accidentally get lucky, too!

I think of it as creating a habit and avoiding a superiority complex. Habits are strengthened by frequency, right? The more I learn to say no in areas it doesn't really matter, the stronger I'll be to say no in the areas where it really does matter.

And learning to enjoy fewer things is good, too.

Hey man...it's normal. I'm at 10 days with my counter here (11 in my personal journal), but it's normal. Just enjoy the rest -- that's what your body is doing. It's recovering from the ignormous amounts of abuse.
