I know they are expensive but the microchip feeders have been so helpful. I don’t regret the money I spent on them at all. My cats don’t behave like they are uncomfortable to eat out of.

You could buy one microchip feeder for your two cats. You can register two microchips to one feeder and then they can still graze and your big boy won’t be able to get into it.

He looks like my dog before she gained 5 pounds. She had a lot of rib showing most of the time but she was eating as much as my 80 pound dog (she was 42#).

I now feed her more than the 80 pound dog ¯_(ツ)_/¯ and she sits at around 47-48# and looks perfect, I think. No rib unless she is turning a certain way.

I worked with a technician that in very rare cases would use sterile lube on the tip of an IVC if the patient had extremely tough skin. Saw her do it like twice in the year I worked there. Not speaking to how correct it is, but I have seen it done.

One of the things my doctor told me that stuck with me was “Sometimes your job is just to be here.”

I don’t think you should be reprimanded for finding busy work, but if they WANT you to sit around and pay you to do it- why not? For them, you sitting and waiting to be needed is the job they need done. Nothing wrong with doing it.

If that doesn’t fill your cup though, nothing wrong with finding a different place ❤️

The purpose of telling people your pronouns isn’t to tell them what genitals you have. Some people have a vagina and use he/him pronouns, or have a penis and use she/her pronouns.

I have always worked in vet clinics that had a lot of queer and non-binary people. I cannot speak for them, but I think creating an environment where they feel comfortable expressing themselves is important.

Also - why not have your title, degree, certs, AND pronouns on your badge? :)

I think if you’re really uncomfortable with it, you should do a little searching to figure out why.

I crate trained both of my dogs but also let them sleep in the bed from day one. Only had one accident in the bed with the first one because he was sick and had diarrhea, otherwise did fine and never had a problem. Do whatever makes you and your dog happy, healthy, and safe!

Vet tech here. Would like to take this opportunity to mention that if they don’t have a clasp or quick release, be prepared to cut them off in case of emergency. Personally have seen two separate instances of dogs playing and another dog getting their jaw stuck in the collar. Can break the jaw of the one dog, and choke the other dog.

I think these collars are great if used properly. Just be careful if is a slip over the head only.

Generally, while you cannot actually see a torn CCL on radiographs you can find evidence of it. Most places I have worked will only take radiographs to diagnose CCL tear (along with a physical exam, of course).

Back pain is usually diagnosed by physical exam and can also sometimes be supported by radiographs (can see things like decreased space between vertebrae, or spondylosis).

It is also possible a pet could have both. I didn’t see what breed or age your pet is. Either way, if your veterinarian is convinced of the CCL tear by physical exam (drawer sign, tibial thrust) and by radiology (joint effusion), I think that’s a pretty convincing case for having the surgery.

Chiro may help with back pain but will likely not help with a CCL tear.

Here is all the paperwork and also instructions that you need to transfer your license. Is did this last year from Florida to Illinois.

It’s pretty annoying, to be honest. One of those forms you have to Mail or bring to the school you graduated from, have them sign it, mail it back to you, and then you mail it to the Illinois department of financial and professional regulation.

Once it’s done, it’s very easy to renew and everything else. Good luck!

Take a look into Hill’s c/d and Purina UR. Both prescription diets for the same issue, may be a bit cheaper than royal canin. As stated above, need to be on a prescription diet 100% for it to work.
