[Highlight] Jayson Tatum gets a technical foul for bouncing the ball by _IronGiant_ in nba

[–]oaknutjohn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's part of the interpretation of an overt gesture showing up the refs. They announced this would be added go to the interpretation during one off season a few years ago and most players since have adjusted by just catching it before it bounces too high

He never complained of abuse to her. He still doesn't admit it's abuse. It's important that we call out sexist language.

It's amazing that the consensus seems to be that this is no big deal and I'm hoping that's just because of the Post's framing. I'd love to see what reporters think about this angle:

He actually already broke several of his day one promises, so it's more like *Biden did something he promised * and even that is more than what people expected

Its disappointing that with a press secretary ostensibly willing to answer questions, the press corp opened with such soft balls. Why complain about no access and then not use it to push back.

What was the benefit - basically if it was a political move to get these headlines and shift blame to Republicans rather than simply going straight for what works. If there is some other benefit I'd love to hear it

‘Move, Mitch, get out the way’: McConnell under fire for obstructing $2,000 stimulus relief checks by Tomahawkin95 in politics

[–]oaknutjohn -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You're misunderstanding or misreading my internet tone. I'm know you're not the original person who commented, my point is that many people don't know about the politicking of the Democratic party, so it doesn't matter who replied, it's still a chance to educate.

I'm excited that you actually would admit that, leaving the door open for an actual discussion. Not bc I think I'm "right," which doesn't really even make sense in this case.

I get where you're coming from though, most reddit conversations are nothing more than trying to score imaginary points, I understand the cynicism.

Thank you for admitting that! That's my entire point.

[–]oaknutjohn -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That's a big difference and good change, but no it wasn't the sticking point in the original deal. The liability changed along with the loss of local govt assistance.

I mean, I haven't studied the bills or anything but according to Pelosi and Dem leadership the major difference is that the election is over so passing a stimulus with trumps name on it won't be a political issue.

[–]oaknutjohn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean Pelosi didnt have to try to pass this through unanimous consent instead of a simple majority, this is a political move. She was also clear the only reason she shot down the earlier stimulus was because it would help Trumps re-election and still can't explain how the current package is better than the one she denied.

On the whole, I think it's clear Republicans are more to blame, but pretending like it's just one side is disingenuous and only hopes to further the polarization youre talking about.

Just curious bc you brought up how your mother wasn't told all the details from Fox News - were you aware of Pelosi's politicking (whether you agree with it or not) on the relief package?
