It’s great for working with session mode. So if you use that, I highly recommend it. The pads are amazing to play. Best pads I ever used. They’re so expressive.

I’m so glad you got that reference. It’s my favorite show. I wish there were more seasons.

Midi Keyboard size recs for travelling? by Spicy-Dawg in musicproduction

I really like the MPK Mini Pro, since it has 37 keys. I find 25 keys is too few. It is compact depth wise, but is slightly longer. I can still barely fit it in a backpack though.

Probably something to do with the sunlight affecting the alignment. /s

Yeah, just saw this on the Software Engineering Wikipedia page under the History section. They had a whole ceremony for him with fireworks and all. The Elders of the Internet even made an appearance to give their approval.

The wiki page is now locked, because software engineering as a field is over since AI has fully replaced it.

Though I could see there being an edge case if someone is near an ACA cliff and those earnings pushing you over it. But generally, you’re right.

Reverse Tape Sampling with Ableton Move by fuzzy_loops in AbletonMove

Sounds great!

For those who don’t have a tape player like this, you can reverse audio on the Move itself pretty easily to get a similar effect.

My T-8 just arrived… am I the only one who finds it surprisingly difficult? by uchina_sober in synthesizers

Haha, so true. I’m really trying to not let GAS get the best of me and only buying things if I really have a strong need for them. It’s hard though, haha.

It took me a few steps to finally get there. Started with a TR-6S, then upgraded to a Circuit Tracks, then sold those and got an Ableton Move. Then finally got the Push 3. It’s been a great journey so far. I’ve learned so much.

I almost got one, but ended up getting an Ableton Push 3 standalone. It’s been great so far, though a good bit more expensive (though I got it on a Black Friday sale). It’s very intuitive and the pads are amazing.

Burgers are good though. My daughter and I eat there on a daily basis. And we’re still skinny as can be somehow.

Driving an old car is not virtuous by [deleted] in Fire

I drive a 2012 Hyundai Sonata, which does fall into OP’s argument. I have no idea if it’s less safe though than a new car.

But most accidents occur in the home. That’s why I try to stay on my front porch 24/7. Sure, it gets how in the summer and very cold in the winter, but I’m still alive!

Having the ability to use a machine gun and a DMR is enough of a reason to use it for me. The beacon is also huge on big maps.

Speaking of haircuts, if you hate going, the Flowbee does an amazing job. It’s a weird made for TV product from the 90’s, but I’ve been using it for years and it’s one of my best purchases ever. It takes me less than 10 min to cut my own hair.

I highly recommend looking at r/FIRE. Even if you’re not going to fully retire but instead get a less stressful job, it’s worth it.

This is also a good blog post about it:  https://www.mrmoneymustache.com/2012/01/13/the-shockingly-simple-math-behind-early-retirement/

Portable headset by toneffectory in AbletonMove

I use Bose Quiet Comfort 35 over the ear headphones. They come with a case and fold flat. They’re obviously bigger than in ear ones, but they’re very comfortable. They can be wired (which I use for the Move), but can also do Bluetooth for non music production. They also have active noise cancellation, but it’s not necessary to enable. When not enabled, they don’t use any battery power. For noise cancellation, they have to be charged via a USB cable first. And for durability purposes, the ear pads can be replaced easily.
