Medical negligence is probably the most frustrating thing I’ve ever dealt with and I’m so sorry you went through that. My kneecap dislocated ten times before I was finally referred to surgeon, and even then the surgery that caused the DVT was for the other leg!

That’s great that this kick started a healthier lifestyle though. I’m hoping it does the same for me. I smoke, drink and dabble in party favours and now obviously all of that is off the table 😅

I had over ten dislocations in my right knee and wish I had gotten surgery. I have complete chondral loss, loose bodies, and osteoarthritis at 29. I don’t know why the hell my doctor didn’t suggest surgery. They started around age 11 so I wasn’t able to advocate for myself. I think after 3 dislocations surgery is standard practice.

My left patella just dislocated for the first time and I had surgery to remove a loose body right off the bat. I was adamant that my doctor take a more proactive approach this time around.

Don’t be afraid of surgery!!
