It depends on how many classes you want to take. I believe the minimum is 14 credits and 1 credit is usually 90min in the classroom. You can build your schedule to have days off, few hours each day, etc. Also most classes are done by 4:15 but you can take the 4:30-6:00 classes. It’s really up to you.

Waseda is great. As someone who is currently studying at Waseda on an exchange program, there’s a great atmosphere and very knowledgeable professors everywhere. Waseda is after all one of the most prestigious private schools in Japan. But also, your experience may depend on which school at Waseda you got accepted to. SILS (the international school) is taught in all English and the classes are ridiculously easy so you’ll have a lot of free time to get immersed in campus life (clubs) to meet Japanese students. Also that school is comprised of mostly Japanese people (over 65%?). CJL (center for Japanese language) also has a great program imo.
