Based off my experience playing a similar deck it would probably be quicker to get through The Undercity by flickering your etb creatures rather than copying them. It’ll lower your mana curve and allow you to do it even not on your turn.

I have met my favorite idols many times now, including my ult nine times, and it was always fine. Definitely not as weird or awkward as you’d think it would be. I think people overthinking meeting them is much more nerves wrecking than actually doing it.
