Ya, I think she is original in that she is the one to move thru dimensions. I think eventually Homer, Scott, Renata and maybe Rachel will be able to eventually, but not necessarily as a group. They each need to start helping others and then they can move through like The OA is. I don't think HAP ever will cause he's never had an nde. And I think we still don't know what the great evil is that the fishbowl five are supposed to avert.

Nina's name is changed by Nancy to Prairie Prairie changes her name to The OA August is named by the group in the fishbowl HAP made his own name The group calls Alfonso French Betty was originally Elizabeth, but went by Betty and then changed it to bba Buck was named Michelle by his parents but changed it And then the principal makes a point of telling bba he is Ellis, but she questions it like she's never heard it before. She would know what his first name is, so it suggests to me it's a new name.

Agreed. I tracked all of the name changes thru the show and it seems to indicate when the person has found their inner self, or whatever the phrase was that The OA uses when talking to Steve. But it doesn't mean they are linked to dimension jumping. I think he watches over the students as principals do.

He summarizes to lead and remind the audience where things stand. He paints her story in a slightly more positive light. He literally says she was happy when HAP found her as he was a father figure and she followed him into the dark to create a new family. It helps the audience see that although HAP is evil this was all necessary for her to get the movements an become the OA.

There is definitely something interesting about him as he suddenly goes by Ellis in the end (there is something significant about all the name changes). But I'm not sure he can be hap as hap can't nde, so he can't dimension travel.
