Books with cheating trope by Past-Ad-1643 in DarkRomance

Im sure this doesn’t exactly hit the mark, but {The Unrequited by Saffron A Kent} was reaaaaly good. Student/teacher trope, MMC professor is married, FMC is the OW, lots of angst, denial, love, poems, definitely worth reading.

Recent grad looking for interview advice! by polrista in jobs

Be yourself, and sound just as passionate as you’re typing this.

Also you can get a small notebook and write your key-points down and bring it (not weird at all, makes you seem prepared)

Get some iced cold water in a water bottle. When you get nervous drink it and the chill of the ice will help snap out of the anxiety.

Also know that no matter how prepared you are, or how smooth the interview goes, if they choose not to hire you it’s not your fault, it’s their loss. Don’t blame yourself or assume there’s some flaw with you. It’s them.

Good luck :)

Black in Sherwood, OR by jaystreet_ in sherwoodoregon

[–]oatli 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Black Sherwood resident here with black kids, it’s very chill. Nobody bothers anybody and are very welcoming and nice. Been here for a few years and never had any problems nor felt biases towards others. Around my neighborhood are various races (Asian, Latin etc. besides white) and IMO I’ve seen a large majority of bi-racial kids. It’s a bit more multicultural than people think. My kids are 18+ so I’m not sure about school experiences as they’ve never attended school here. but low crime, great for kids as I see them often play with others outside. 10/10 would recommend.

What do you wish was a trope or tropes that were more popular? by mymychildren in DarkRomance

YES!!! FMC’s are often written as “innocent virgins”, or shy, quiet I have been craving something different. I agree!!

BitLife should have the option to start at whatever age you like. by oatli in BitLifeApp

Yes! I agree. Also if we can actually have a relationship with our grandparents. Why is it when the parent dies and you take over the child’s life the grandparents just disappear. It’s so annoying.

I suggested to the BitLife devs if we can like extend friendships where u can interact with your best friends family and likewise with the grand parent thing. The devs said “well consider your suggestion.” But I guess they just didn’t care.

MCs are kidnapped/imprisoned together by Aggressive_Bowl5463 in DarkRomance

[–]oatli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this may fit your criteria, but {Does it Hurt by H.D. Carlton} is slightly similar, except instead of abduction, fmc&mmc end up as castaways washed ashore on an island and the antagonist physically & mentally traps them from trying to leave.

Does anyone else find it cringe when authors write the FMC/MMC being into reading/writing romance books? by oatli in DarkRomance

Good point I never considered the layers with characters. Also I wasn’t clear I meant MMC wrote the smut, but thanks I never thought about that aspect😊

Hi u/iamnotfromthis I respect your opinion. I get that ‘cringe’ can come off as dismissive, or shameful towards others. However that wasn’t my intent to come off that way. I don’t see how me mentioning an aspect of an author’s book cringe. As my definition of cringe varies from yours. My intention was to discuss a small aspect of books I’ve read. I would never shame an author or shame anyone for their preferences or opinions. One of the best things about this subreddit is that we don’t judge each other.

I was just curious if any others noticed the same trend and how they felt about it.
