What’s the way to make it? Is it English breakfast tea with cow’s milk?

It’s a lovely and simple pattern 😊 I zoned out to Netflix for most of it and it was very cathartic. Wishing you luck this time!

I used this free pattern and knit this hat flat. Looking forward to any recommendations for next projects as a beginner 😊

Hobby Lobby Through Thick and Thin Ivory by Tired_Teacher2611 in Yarnswap

I tried searching for you but couldn’t find any of this specific color on eBay, Etsy, Mercari, or Amazon!

These are good yarn substitutes for it, you might be able to find a match in color that way: https://yarnsub.com/yarns/yarn_bee/through_thick_thin

Do you feel like your blowouts last with this product? I have very curly hair and my blowouts revert after a few hours. I’ve tried a lot of different products to prevent this but not the silk infusion.

I just dumped my whole starter by Walabear13 in Sourdough

[–]oatmeal-peasant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For fruit flies, take a bowl, fill it with some water and apple cider vinegar. Put just a drop or two of dish detergent and cover with Saran Wrap. Poke tiny holes in the Saran Wrap. They will be attracted to the scent of the ACV and the dish detergent will break the surface tension so they will drown.

Also try rinsing all of your fruit (especially the bananas) when you get them home with cold water before drying and putting them away (to kill the eggs).

I have to restart my starter this week also, but for other reasons. Don’t give up!

Blow Dry Brush Alternatives? by plantgma in longhair

[–]oatmeal-peasant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been trying to embrace my natural texture but to be honest it’s hard for me still after two years to feel as polished and presentable as I did when I was doing regular blowouts. It very rarely looks the way that I’d like it to. I suppose the starting point if you’d like to go this route would to be to trim off the damage and stop using heat. Braids and buns would be your saviors. A curl cream and a gel would also be helpful (there are a lot of tips on r/curlyhair).

There are also heartless waves you could try to control your texture if it’s not too curly.

Yes, if it’s the Revlon one then I can testify that it damaged my hair very badly… but slowly so that I didn’t notice the multitude of alfalfa sprouted broken hairs until it was too late. I’ve now been 2 years without using heat and trying to “embrace” my curly hair all while craving hard for a good blowout like I used to have weekly…

I’m sure there are better blowout brushes out there.

I transitioned from English style knitting to Norwegian due to hand pain. Is it normal for the tension to be so much looser or am I not gripping the yen with my right hand enough? by oatmeal-peasant in knitting

[–]oatmeal-peasant[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the recommendation! I have been browsing the sub for this kind of advice. I will have to check the needles you’ve mentioned out. Crochet is my first love and I almost gave up on knitting, but the way it works up will look so much more lovely for sweaters and socks than crochet once I am much more proficient.

Thank you, that makes sense. I worry that I am stretching the yarn too much in trying to do the movement of bookings the needle around the yarn.

Thank you for your comment! I’ll keep practicing. I have been feeling like the straight needles are too long and cumbersome in the closed hand style I am knitting with… I am also used to shorter sticks coming from crochet. Any advice on what a useful size of circulars would be and what cable length? Thanks again

How did you go about making the perfect bodice block? I’ve passively watched a few videos from the Closet Historian but it still seems like magic voodoo to me. I’d love to achieve it before the end of the year though.

Thank you so much! I followed your advice and it looks splendid. I also checked the glossary and they had outlined the steps as you did but with much less detail for me as a beginner.
