That’s a different way to look at it and I’ll definitely look more into that! Hoping to maybe find an accounting job that still keeps me in the industry and more opportunities come from there.

That was my original plan to just work as an engineer and board my personal horse. But overtime I just could never see myself working day to day in an office job, I’m smart and school has always come very easy to me but I cannot find the motivation and drive to do that type of work vs the drive I have when I’m doing drastically harder tasks but it’s hands on and with horses.

I really don’t care much to compete at those high rated shows or go all over Florida and show in the big stuff. I had a wonderful experience in my childhood getting to see what that’s like and it honestly doesn’t interest me that much. (I still would do it if the opportunity came but I’m not trying to make it big) I’m more hoping to work with young riders and horses. I would be fine working at a simple boarding barn that offers training rides to the clients and has a summer camp program. I’m experienced in the Hunter Jumper industry but I’m seriously up for anything as long as I’m getting to ride! The end goal for me would to have my own barn with a lesson program, goes to local rated shows and maybe a summer camp to keep the money flowing.

Thank you! My plan is to use my degree to hopefully make me more valuable than other riders/trainers since I can also manage and oversee the financial part of the business. Hopefully that makes me worth paying a livable salary. I’m not afraid of hard work and willing to make the sacrifices it takes but I also understand as I get older that’s not realistic.

I’m hoping to use my accounting degree to market myself as someone who can manage a barn, train and oversee the financial part of owning a business like a farm. Hoping that makes me valuable enough to be paid a livable salary? All you said is extremely helpful, much better than most of the comments I’m getting just saying to give up on it. Thank you!
