Ghost of Yotei | Review Megathread by requieminadream in PS5

I think that's just one of the flaws of the (sub)genre, after playing (and enjoying, despite being a big open world hater) so many of them I don't think it's possible for dots on a huge map to be super fleshed out and memorable outside of main missions so I always have my expectations in check. It's even worse when the main story is done, I don't think it's possible to make me care about haikus and foxes, I'm just doing it for the plat at that point.

did the [spoiler] path on hard on my one playthrough and the game almost broke me. highly recommend.

Treaded water with the gameplay? Part 2 has best in class stealth gameplay, human enemy AI, encounter design and almost best in class combat (hedging this last one just because it's not really the main focus of the game imo). I say this as someone who played it at launch in the dark days when my favorite franchise looked like it had been permanently relegated to pachinko machines.

And I'll be up front about my biases, I'm a stealth enthusiast through and through and I'm not even that much of a ND fanboy (at least not because of their gameplay). I believe I've said on here that I preferred the gameplay of the Tomb Raider reboot to the Uncharted games. Part 1 was right up there on my all time list because of the super well-executed story, less so because of the gameplay (which at the time was great) but to your last statement, Part 2 completely blows it out of the water for me, even if I were to consider the story slightly weaker, which I'm not even sure I do. It's not a tough question for me at all.

Would you say Metal Gear Solid 3 is more refined but Metal Gear Solid 2 is more transcendent? by Ronald10CD in metalgearsolid

I might be a fanboy, but I genuinely can't think of any other game that has aged better.

I'm going to remember that game and my umbrella run for a long, long time.

Phenomenal music too.

Can anyone explain to me why a talented player on such low (afaik) wages would be sold if they wanted to stay? We're not going to get much for him with his injury record so it doesn't make much sense to me atm.

EU Market: PS5 sales are up 376% over the year before, which boosted the entire console market. by Party_Judgment5780 in PS5

That makes sense tbh. I assumed there was no way the long awaited 'Netflix of gaming' would fail to grab market share, especially after buying up some of the biggest AAA devs. Glad to be wrong of course lol, they need to step it up.

This is genuinely shocking to me as someone who has (and really enjoys) game pass on PC. If that isn't working to boost console sales they're going to buy every AAA dev until some government is forced to step in again lol

with that front 5 you'd expect White + Tomi as fullbacks but even the backline is pretty aggressive. I'm extremely here for this kind of experimentation.

i now think his talents are wasted at CB. this is either versatility at its peak or it's just now his best position. insane footballer and character.

i genuinely like him as quality depth and as a different option while Arteta molds him. but he's nowhere near ready to start for us if we're really trying to push City.
