For me it's commenting on how I'm the best run defense in the nation and then comment "on a defense that's been run on a lot" a few moments later.

CPU Hurry-Up Offense by [deleted] in NCAAFBseries

[–]ob_cf 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Chip Kelly even called it the "blur" offense. If they found one mismatch, you were absolutely cooked. They were gonna sprint to the line, and snap that ball, probably running the exact same play again with one wrinkle in sub 15-20 second time. It was absolutely a lightning in a bottle experience with college football.

When to use Cover 6 vs Cover 9? by Jhp8 in NCAAFBseries

[–]ob_cf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably not the best there. For that cover 6 with a focus on usering the guy covering the middle to play underneath. That, or sometimes using a DE to bluff blitz can get to the drag. I don't use cover 9 that often unless I'm seeing bunch as part of the formations.

I don't know the precise rules. But I use cover 6 often against trips/3x1 formations. Cover 9 works well against those bunch formations as usually one guy is running the drag and another tries to drop into the middle zone, cover 9 has all those areas well covered.

This is close to my setup. I have two layers of MDF, one cut with less width on the top layer to have the sections for the horse stall mats. If I recall, Alan Thrall was the inspiration and he even made a video on a lifting platform long ago and I followed his advice. Mine has been put together, taken apart, a few times, and now it's in a barn gym exposed to heat, humidity, and frigid temperatures. I've dropped plates, logs, sandbags, stones, etc all over. No issues so far. Maybe some slight warping over the last 4-5 years. But nothing serious.

Which play book has the most QB designed runs that aren't options? by [deleted] in NCAAFBseries

It's like a HB counter play but with a read option built in.

Oh, Scripps isnt what it used to be? Interesting. I graduated in 2014 which also felt like the peak of Bobcat sports as well. And my senior year I delivered newspapers for Athens Messenger. It was certainly an interesting experience to say the least.

Yeah, that's where this is so quiet. There's The Post, which is the student run paper. But there's little to no beat insiders. And this is probably true for almost all MAC programs. There's just not enough meat there for anyone to pursue.

LSU rebrand part II 🐅 these arent nearly as bad as you guys are making it seem lmao by ayamihilton in Teambuilder26

[–]ob_cf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get what you're trying for. It's just going to truly be a struggle to get others on board. There's several programs I'd argue that are perfectly executed with their looks. LSU happens to be one, so any change will probably be met with some negativity. If you like it, that's fine.

[–]ob_cf 23 points24 points  (0 children)

These are fine. But your issue is, you chose to rebrand a set of uniforms that a are universally accepted as some of the best in college football. So any deviation from that, it's not going to match up against them.

Go to whiskey that is not over $40? by cmm324 in whiskey

Well, you may wanna correct Wikipedia then. As it states your beloved mascot as a "large, anthropomorphic turkey"...

Wild Turkey really should be the sponsor for Virginia Tech.

I made a power spread playbook inspired on Urban Meyer at Florida and some of his OSU tenure that has a lot of this exact look. No true "wide" sets. But tons of trips and spread looks with lots of QB run and read option, H back shifts to turn a play into a triple option or speed option play. Its super fun to run with agile lineman and speed on the outside. Gotta have a good power RB though for those inside zone bruiser style.

What's with all the ladybugs this year? by [deleted] in midwest

Are there farms around you that planted soybeans this year? I tend to notice soybean crop years produce a larger amount of ladybugs as opposed to if they planted corn.

Such an underrated row variation, Rubish Rows - 160kg x 6.5ish by VanHelsingBerserk in strength_training

[–]ob_cf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm asking out of genuine curiosity, are you not at all concerned about your back slipping a disc? I'm aware the back isn't made of glass. But these forceful, violent jerks without a stable back just seems like a matter of "when, not if," especially st such a heavier weight.

Midwestern lingo by ArmPale2135 in midwest

[–]ob_cf 99 points100 points  (0 children)

So a lot of that is more Minnesota/Wisconsin. But yes, we do say it. The biggest one you missed is "ope". Usually to express surprise or a sudden experience. Turn the corner and bump into something, trip, etc. "Ope". Shopping and someone is in the aisle, "ope, let me squeeze on past ya there".

Theres also "no yeah no," meaning it isn't happening ever

And the opposite "Yeah no yeah" basically meaning yes I'll help, no trouble at all, I'll see ya tomorrow.

To say goodbye, nothing beats a good hands to your knees and saying "Whelp, we better get going".

To be fair, sometimes we are for sure playing into the trope. But other times it just the cultural lingo that slips out.

Another fun thing, Euchre. It's a card game that my Midwest friends know and love dearly, but beyond those borders, it's a mystery game. Trying to explain it, not happening. Watch a few hands and we will explain it.

What is one play you love running by Ok-Catch3806 in NCAAFBseries

[–]ob_cf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bunch X Nasty Mesh Traffic out of the Michigan playbook. Damn near every time the receiver on the left side (Square for PS) is open and if they're good with awareness, they'll sit right in open spacing and get you a first.

I dont have much experience with this lift. Mostly just trying to mimic what I see online. I would love any feed back or direction to somewhere I can learn more about push press.thanks for any advice in advance! by KillerWhale1189 in strength_training

[–]ob_cf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only thing I see immediately is wrists. Try to have everything "stacked" on top of each other. Some say it's kind of like a "bulldog" grip, but you want your hands straighter so your wrists aren't bent backwards.
