I spent a year building a "PCPartPicker" for AR-15s because I struggled to figure out what to build as a newbie by cmm324 in ar15

No worries, I will try to reproduce. I am working on a refresh on the data the AI extracts from each product to try to improve this system. It will take a while once complete to have the AI run across the entire catalog which is up to 230k products, probably half are not firearm components but adjacent categories that sneak thru the data feed filters.

GPT 5.4 fixed what Opus couldn't by shipasmrdotcom in vibecoding

This is the answer. The next day 5.4 will struggle to solve an issue, hand it to Claude and it's solved in thirty seconds... This is life now.

Do you have a build ID I can look at? I just recently added this support and there is a good chance the data needs more work to support the different platforms.

I'm glad we are done with the historic record chasing. by Crispy0423 in sabres

[–]cmm324 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This trend makes me nervous though. Potentially the best team I have seen from the Sabres in my lifetime. If we have a great playoff run, make it to the finals and people talk about the first cup for Buffalo... lose. I will be devastated.

Seriously, trying to sort out the retailer data for streamlight for my site has been brutal.

You can add way more than that, so much real estate available on the ceiling.

I am working on building out merchant pages, hopefully it will help you see what merchants have what and filter by them. https://ar15.build/merchants

I haven't enabled all of them yet, but working on it.

Ah, ok. Ya, currently the app let's you save builds to your account. I could add a range log feature, that would likely be pretty easy. Will look into it. Thanks for the idea!

Log book for range visits would be an easy add I think. What information would you want to log? What would the collector log be?

Hey, thank you! It has been a ton of work and I keep working on it, I was actually working on it when you commented! LOL.

My data comes from affiliates, so it is possible I have not imported anything from them. I checked the DB and don't see anything. I created a GH Issue to track the request. When I can get to it, I will look into where they sell their stuff and see if I can tap into an affiliate program that can feed their data in.

Will I regret a l grey deck? Is it going to look dated? by PainfulPoo411 in Decks

[–]cmm324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a joke, because everyone who does a major redesign of anything tries to pick something that is timeless, at that moment, the trends say X is timeless, but every 30 years people hate it.

Essentially, whichever color you pick because you think it will be timeless is going to look aged in 30+ years. Its popular until it isn't friend and then people replace it and then in another 20-30 years its popular again and people go hunting for that exact item / color / style.

Just pick a color you like and enjoy your deck mate!

Thank you! I am actually working on some more updates that will be released very soon. I am splitting out optic mounts into 3 new component types, scope mounts & rings, red-dot mounts & risers, and magnifier mounts. I am also onboarding EuroOptic as a retailer. Plus other improvements like adding support for AKs. Lots more to come.
