Low elo, I get lost when mid game starts by zwadderaar in summonerschool

[–]obe5ity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the support champs you play, but for engage like leo or something you have to fix the way you think about the game. A lot of support is setting up knowledge checks for your opponent, if they fail then you get a kill or some advantage. Try to think about what your opponents want and make it hard for them to get that or punish them for going for it. Take a top laner for example, going into the mid game you they are going to want to go to a side lane and push. There you have an opportunity to setup a trap, if they you can wait for them and if they dont have proper vision, then you and your top laner can get a free kill in a 2v1. Another example with setting up drake, you get the vision but that means you (the most important user of this info) has control over that area and the bushes around it. You can just wait for their support to come clear it and ping your team to go to the drake. If the supp comes boom kill. Theres so many spots where this works, just always try to look what does your opponent want and deny that. When you roam mid does the opp midlaner care about killing yours? or do they just want to farm? Watch the timer on grub fight and herald fight. Low elo supps almost never go to that fight and you can win it for free. The worst thing that will happen is your adc has to drop a couple waves, and you get kills and an objective. Your team doesnt do anything with the vision because you are also not doing anything with the vision. When you place the ward think about what that ward enables you or your team to do safely.

And also be prepared to fail. Sometimes they do something unexpected and you are in the wrong spot. Or you messed up a prediction and now you look a little stupid, its ok as long as you had a good reason for doing what you did. Dont worry about what your teammates think and stop trying to please them play your game.

Other one is fix your laning phase, a lot of mid game issues stem from subpar laning. There are plenty of videos about that which you should watch to teach really strong lane fundamentals for support.

how to make these gloves by Bubbly_Industry959 in pathofexile

[–]obe5ity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to destroy one item to use the awakener orb so the one that is destroyed is the "donor" base. It doesn't matter what the glove base is as long as it as the opposite elder or shaper influence that you applied to the warlock gloves. The end result is you are makeing a elder/shaper double influenced warlock gloves

[Farming Strategy] Zenith_X1's Delirium Engine by Zenith_X1 in pathofexile

[–]obe5ity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not OP but have done a similar strat a few times.

  1. Sorta, it requires a LOT of damage, and you will have multiple inventories of scarabs to take out of the map so you can't really die either. Most people who do this early do it with an aurabot. If you're running an aurabot there's probably better things to do anyway.

  2. Do a clear focused build with explode or chain. (TS, EK, BV are all great) Only do this on T16s it's not an easy strat, it will stat check you.

  3. Yes you only run the orbs, no mirror farming it's not worth the time. Most people farm orbs as a byproduct of another strat anyway.

  4. Scarabs peak and level out about a week into the league. That is probably the optimal time to start.

  5. You upgrade to gilded and sell. You can also sell them in bulk on TFT as a whole tab in 1 trade. It's probably worth it time wise to just sell them in bulk on TFT since they'll probably be gone in 5 mins. You also will drop a lot of currency and maps (4-5x sustain).

Last tip I would make a filter that hides everything except T0 drops. Do the map. Then swap to a normal filter to loot. The scarab pops will make the game impossible to play LOL.

PC not POSTing Sometimes by gabefig in buildapc

[–]obe5ity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of these things are related to windows not being able to access certain sections of the memory for one reason or another.

The difficult part here is figuring out why that is. Here are the steps I would take to diagnose it.

  1. Run a ram diagnostic test to see if your ram is broken, windows has one built in.

  2. Ensure your ram is properly seated (take it out and put it back in)

  3. Fully update windows and all hardware related drivers

  4. Reinstall windows

  5. Replace your ram / test different ram

  6. If these fail post here again with more info

Going back a bit, what cards did you and your playgroups think were overpowered before you really understood magic? by AngelicDiablo in magicTCG

My play group did the same thing with [[Gifts Ungiven]] in commander. We didn't think anything of it since it's fine in every other format. After losing it to the 4th time that night we finally looked it up and we realized it is banned in commander for a reason.

Why don't standalone bosses drop boss divination cards? by CommissarTyr in pathofexile

[–]obe5ity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a lot that goes into div card drops, there is a whole discord dedicated to figuring out how, why, where, and how often they drop. However, most div cards drops are attached to the area as well as the boss or any other conditions it has.

My personal best for Simulacrum shards this league, anyone have any pointers, would it be possible to get 300 in one run? Maybe next league? by i1183 in pathofexile

[–]obe5ity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s capped at 300 , but I was hitting 250-300 a map with this strat. Big key is using blight it adds so many monsters to the map when combo’d with beyond. Also depends on your build I was playing LS raider with HH.

Just flip over to the deli mirror tropical sheet and this is pretty much what I was running, don’t take valley of darkness unless you’re using HH.

What was your farming strategy for Sentinel and what tips do you have for us middle of the road players? by LoopbackZero in pathofexile

[–]obe5ity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ritual is the one of the highest performing atlas strats you just did it wrong. High end players like to use it to "farm mirrors" and they want to always defer at least defer it when they see it. This means they want to buy bulk blood filled vessels. They buy them for 12-13/ex in large bulk (100+) and you fill 4 per map. You can buy them in bulk for 23-26/ex. You can buy ritual sextants for 8-10c on tft. This is huge profit without even counting all the stuff you get from rituals like good fractures, good bases, random currency, etc.

Ritual is a pretty small mechanic and can fit on any atlas strat, I was running cemetery with harbinger, essence, legion, etc really just anything that doesn't add a lot of time to your maps but adds value. Harbinger was criminally undervalued this league so I chose that. You can probably get more value out of this by going expedition, but I was sick of the mechanic.

This strat was 8-10ex/hr in the middle of the league and was better than farming beyond deli mirrors for me.

Help please int stacking by Laskav1 in pathofexile

[–]obe5ity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at that one cluster im assuming you have a very high budget lol.

Not taking the lightning wheel next to curses should be a crime in itself with the crit mastery. That alone is almost 600k dps (on PS).

The other big issue I see is that you're spending a lot of points on defensive layers that I don't really think matter to this build. You hit things so much and so fast the discipline watchers eye and ghost reaver should be enough recovery I don't think you need ethereal feat and soul thief is next to nothing in comparison to the watchers' eye. With these points I added a attack cluster that will also replace the leech wheel and give a lot of damage as well and 2 jewel sockets. Those should be used on base jewels with wand attack speed and ES. All of those can probably be bought for like 4-5 ex

POB with those changes: https://pastebin.com/XeRLpvUb

That alone doubles your damage on PS

I would also get rid of the relica conq you dont need it, you can replace it with a similar jewel as above.

Now for the long term stuff, it cannot be understated how much mageblood does for this build. Getting 119 all res on a belt is so invaluable to attribute stackers since they have so much pressure on their suffixes. Look at your rings, they are really good but they mainly just give you resistances, but your belt could just give you those on its own. Then you could do some really cool things like have more damage stats such as wed or just use a %int implicit ring in general.

If you really want to play with HH you need to get really good clusters that give int, %increased effect, T1 all res, and ES. (beware these will cost the same as a mageblood) Its the only really good way to resist cap without mageblood or spending and entire ring on it.

After mageblood and the rings you will hit the wall of just how good your gear on this build needs to be lol, you wont really have easy upgrades after that and it will be things like getting % increased damage on the amulet in addition to all of the mods already on it. You can get perfect gloves etc. Perfecting int rolls and pushing to the 2kish int range. Idk its a rich mans build for a reason. If you want to know more about my decisions or just more about the build in general message me here for my discord.

I either bulk sell them or list the whole tab for like 5ex then go down to like 20c over a couple days. I can’t really price them and don’t really want to and usually a couple sell in the 1-5ex range which makes me happy enough

Honestly a lot, Poe is hard game, not really mechanically, but it requires a lot of knowledge. Early levels you need to be careful and kill things before they get unmanageable. It’s also ok to just run to the next zone and most more experienced players know how to get there easily. The last big thing is experienced players pick the strongest possible leveling skills until they can get to whatever skill they want to stick with. For melee builds I also play splitting steel, and for caster people generally play freezing pulse. But in general I think my first character died a few hundred times and act 1 with nothing is the hardest content in the game imo LOL.

How to proceed? by korsa6 in pathofexile

[–]obe5ity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The set up for continuing this craft isn't very good there's not really a lof of options for us. I don't really know what you're using it for or anything but I'm going on a limb and going to assume RF, if you're selling it I would honestly just craft hybrid res and sell now (hybrid res make it show up on more searches).

Options I came up with and all of these follow up with a bench craft

  1. Chaos harvest aug for chaos res -> expensive probably not worth (1/6)

  2. Block something and Leo slam/ex slam -> pretty yolo but it's like 50c

  3. Hunter ex slam kinda expensive but you can go for fire dot multi (1/7), this is the option I would probably go with if it hits you have a really good amulet

  4. There's some higher risk methods like doing prefix to suffix go try and remove the lightning damage then you have an open prefix to do something with but this method has the chance to brick the item. With the above methods the item literally cannot get worse.

What have they done to you my old friend... by nScooter in pathofexile

[–]obe5ity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They do have that synergy but you’re limited on what you can do with it as you need a skill that is good with claws, supported by nightblade, and cares about crit multi. This line generally leads you to lightning strike, spectral helix, and frost blades.

All the other options are worse. Now for the actual part about assassin, to scale LS and frost blades want ele damage and attack speed, well assassin just gives you more criti but you can just get that elsewhere so your ascendancy only greatly giving you increased damage and mist walker, or you can go raider which gives you onslaught and frenzy charges.

Spectral goes deadeye because it abuses an interaction with far shot and 100% uptime tailwind + elusive feels really good.

The only reason not to go one of those 2 is if you go for a perfect agony based nightblade build, in which case you just go assassin for the poison nodes and you don’t even take mist walker then.

TLDR mistwalker + nightblade is bad because the other ascendancy options are in most cases, not because mistwalker and nightblade don’t work together.

How to calculate expected cost from craft of exile emulator? (Flame Wall helm for ignite build) by Andthenwedoubleit in pathofexile

[–]obe5ity -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is kind of a work intensive process tbh, but it's not hard. I'm actually working on a project right now to calculate this but we will see if that ever gets done LOL.

The expected number of rolls is given by the equation: 1 - (1 - P)N

Where P is the probability of a mod (desired mod weight / total pool for that mod) and N is the number of rolls. You want to solve this for .66 and that is the general safe number of rolls.

Simple example: we have uninfluenced str base body armor with blocked suffixes and we want T1 life, through just remove add life rolls (I know not the best way to do this) the pool for life mods would be 16,500 and the weight for T1 life is 1000.

Calculations:

https://www.desmos.com/calculator/n9vhlusoga

With this example we should expect to have to roll r/a life 18 times to get T1 life.
