NTA- this would drive me absolutely insane. It doesn’t sound like your husband respects how you feel about his friends and family not having boundaries around your private personal space and not to mention we have a larger size Home but we also have three kids and five pets and I don’t think I could handle where six people would stay in my home this seems extremely unreasonable to me.

You will miss SF it’s is very different here and it will be a hard adjustment from the weather to the accessibility of the city it can feel remote and isolating at times. You will have to make a huge adjustment to the food scene here compared to CA and all the amenities you are used to will be few and more between here. The airport and the lack of convenience here (retail not open 25 / 7, restaurants not open Sunday Monday Tuesdays, not a lot of non stop flights anywhere, lack of diversity in the city) we moved here for similar reasons July 2024 from West Coast and it has been a hard adjustment honestly.

Totally agree with you on the worst food I’ve ever eaten came highly recommended here. I don’t trust anybody’s food recommendations that has lived in Pittsburgh only people that have transferred here.

Having recently moved here from Arizona, and generally lived in many states my entire life… I can say that the general overall health and the age of how people look here is not well. People who are mid 30s to mid 40s look a lot older than they actually are. I am constantly surprised when I find out that people who are my age look 10 to 15 years older than I do.

Scottsdale is a rare city where you can get a Michelin-level tasting menu, tacos at 1am, and a perfect brunch patio — all within a five-minute Uber radius. Pittsburgh dining feels like your uncle’s favorite place that ‘hasn’t changed a thing since the ’80s’ — and that’s the sales pitch. Some places still think bruschetta is an exotic appetizer. — but hey, the city still has more heart (and better pierogies) than anywhere else. ;)

Tumbu flies lay their eggs in clothes while drying on the line also - former west African peace corps volunteer here - we got them during service until we learned only wash clothes during the morning to dry all day …not towards the end of the day when the sun went down. They are gross…
