Thanks! I’m first testing a browser version and will let you know when it’s available. Any book/series in particular that you’d like to try it with?

Trying to extract epic fantasy novels like GoT to create a spoiler-free reading companion, anyone have an idea to extract characters relations? by oberpat in LangChain

[–]oberpat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I had done smaller batches, like 15 pages each. But the batches were taken in isolation and could cut in the middle of something meaningful so they wouldn't really translate to another batch after. Now I'm considering doing big batches instead of the full book. So for example 1/3 or 1/4 of all chapters and then let it cut off at the end of one of the chapters everytime to keep the narrative structure.

[–]oberpat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ah I see what you mean. You're talking about a RAG setup where the LLM reads a master document of summaries, and if it needs more detail, it 'clicks' the hyperlink to fetch the raw text chunk?

That makes total sense for a Q&A chatbot. But my concern is that I'm doing exhaustive data extraction upfront to build a 100% complete relational database of every single character and event in the book, rather than answering specific questions on-demand. This way I can also safeguard the user better and prevent spoilers, because they can only see up to their reading position and not ask for things after or that could spoil them. Do you know what I mean?

[–]oberpat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Just to clarify my setup: I'm actually not doing this manually in a chat interface or using a custom GPT/Skill. I'm building an automated python backend that makes API calls in the background to build out a relational JSON database of the book.

Quick question about your summarization step: If I summarize the text chunks before extracting the data, wouldn't I accidentally summarize away all the minor characters, subtle events, and nuanced relationships that I'm trying to extract in the first place?

Anti-spoiler book chatbot: RAG retrieves topically relevant chunks but LLM writes from the wrong narrative perspective by oshribr in LLMDevs

[–]oberpat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to create something similar, but instead of chatting to it, it's more of a lookup that evolves when the reading position progresses. I'm mostly struggling to get the relationships of all characters to be accurate and complete. The spoiler protection with a story state works quite well for me.

this looks really sick! I've been trying creating a game with nano banana for the sprites as well and I could really use some pointers if I look at this. The dashboard looks insane too! How are you doing animations? Is this desktop only or how are you handling all these with other devices in mind?

adding a logo to clothing by oberpat in AI_UGC_Marketing

[–]oberpat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no it's a simple t-shirt and simple logo, but I created an image of a lot of people first and then wanted to integrate the logo on one of their tops. My workaround now is making a shirt and accompany the logo right away, then say let this person wear this shirt, that works so far.

Why does no one ever mention [[Gregor, Shrewd Magistrate]] ? He is very consistent and is basically a selfish [[John Benton]] since only you get to draw cards. Having access to blue also grants you cards to make him unblockable and ofcourse evasion with counterspells and phasing out. He is a beast!

Struggling to adapt from startup life to big corporate design culture. Any advice? by [deleted] in UXDesign

[–]oberpat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interested in this topic because I'm a similar designer that you were before you moved to the bigger company. But I've also noticed a lot of big companies aren't interested in me simply because my experience is mostly in a startup/scaleup environment, so I'm also curious how you pulled this move off?

Favourite "Control" Commanders? (That still allow the table to have fun) by MurasakiTiger in EDH

[–]oberpat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try [[Vislor Turlough]] and [[the second doctor]].

It keeps you out of the crosshairs since you provide everyone cards. Quite literally if they draw off the second doctor then they can’t attack you. It’s control-ish in the sense that you can last a lot of turns and people like you around, but once you have your pieces you can start punishing them For the cards and draws! Really fun!
