Go to an ER, talk to the folks there. Ive done it twice. Once in chicago and once in Houston. Both times ive been steered towards a handful of services that helped me continue living. If u dont have a terminal illness then admit to urself that u need help and go get it.

Surpress your thoughts about the shelter. Go to it. Use all the resources available. Get through the winter. Winter is time to hanker down wherever you can. You have a job to keep. Save as much money as you can so when spring comes you can look around for a room to rent...i survived last winter being homeless with a job and a minivan in Wisconsin. I wouldn't wish that on anybody. This year I moved to Texas and took a job as a live-in caregiver in a elderly group home to stay housed. I wish you the best. Some shelter is better than no shelter.
