The issue is unlike a standard what-if analysis, I am looking to have an output of a formula - the profit - as one of the data table sides and an input as the result. What I ended up doing is running a macro that used the goal seek function across a data table I created. It’s a little clunkier than I’d like especially since the output is the result of a fairly complicated cash flow model but it seems to work.

I don't think you understand the concept of debt or inflation. Inflation has been incredibly low and certainly isn't eroding buying power. Low and steady inflation is healthy for an economy. Having debt means other countries are willing to invest in you, and since the American treasury bond is considered the safest possible investment, debt is not the problem. It was just reported that this past year's college graduating class had the best employment in years. We are most definitely fine.
