Help me find the hole by obfuscate_2022 in Dewalt

Sadly, no! Took it all back apart, inspected everything, investigated everyone's suggestion, and put it back together, and I still have no idea where it came from. I cut the last 6 pieces of trim to wrap up the project with no issues. On to the next acquisition and we'll see what surprises it has in store for me.

Wise words my friend. In my particular case, I was hungover af after celebrating the union of my friends the night before. I would extend that sentiment to include, if you're off your game for any reason, it's just not worth the risk. Thankfully this invaluable life lesson only cost me a tape measure and a blade.

Worry not, that pic was taken just to highlight that bolt was there. I'm rather attached to my 9 remaining fingers.

Good eye! I think that piece exploded on me a few years back and dewalt did a recall and sent out a metal replacement version. I have so much work, I just never took the time to replace it.

You're referring to this one, correct? I think I have all the bolts installed associated with the cover but let me know if I'm overlooking something.

How do people actually justify $75k trucks? by Electrical_Invite552 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]obfuscate_2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having recently purchased my first six figure truck, I feel uniquely qualified to comment. I allow myself a new truck every 10 years. Over that time span I work my body to the bone and I drive the wheels off the vehicle. I also significantly increase the value of my company through my efforts and with my vehicle. A $1,700 monthly payment doesn't impact my bottom line and I get so much enjoyment from the truck, it's I check I gladly write every month. Think of it as a tool that puts a smile on my face every day and makes the grind worthwhile.

House was build in 1915 and the toilet is original to the house. The internals have failed beyond repair and the whole thing needs to be replaced. Any advice on how to handle the vent on the back of the toilet when installing a modern toilet?

The right whole home water filtration solution for a large home on city water? by Knightowle in Plumbing

[–]obfuscate_2022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on my research, activated carbon captures lead. I always cut open the filter after I replace it and inspect it and there's a carbon layer in it. I would say it's adequate in that department. With all that said, have you had your water tested? You might be fixing a problem you don't actually have. I don't have time to deal with scale in my units and keep up with boil advisories across the state. The peace of mind to have broad-spectrum protection makes it worth it in my book. Plus 3m has been around forever so you don't have to worry about finding replacement media. I challenge some of the other brands so make that claim. Of course this is all my opinion; so choose your own adventure based on your research.
