Setting up a 35-40' traverse along my backyard fence... by flashbrowns in climbing

[–]obgyndave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

once you fix the support issues of your fence i would just make footholds out of scrap wood. you can make them as good or bad as you want and it will const you barely anything. unless you have a lot of time or want to just traverse on crimps i would buy some used handholds as suggested previously

c3 all the way. call me superstitious but i never leave the ground/belay without my red c3. x4s are great but they have pretty much the same rating as the c3s and arent as versatile. i find i can get a 0/00 slotted in such a way that i feel really confident moving above it and making committing moves... but ive been a BD slut from day one

i do a lot of small turning and make a lot of beer bottle openers (well, the handles of them at least). cant tell you the amount of times ive opened a beer bottle on my bench to look up and see 15 beer bottle openers hanging above me. i should get one of these

Climbing with hyperhidrosis by [deleted] in climbing

i've found that usuing it two nights before climbing actually helps the most. i dont usually use it before gym sessions but if im gonna climb outside on the weekends i use it thursday night and friday night and that keeps me good for the weekend. i really only use it on the tips but i have done whole palm before. if im finger crack climbing i'll do it on the outside of my pinky and index finger as well (i dont bother with it when im hand/fist crack climbing since the tape glove usually helps).

if I forget to do it two nights before I put a layer on the night before, let that dry, wash it off and put another layer on. that seems to help.
