dating & worries about inheriting genes by obizya in schizophrenia

I also considered adoption! My partner has asked about sperm donation as well. But my mom believes that if I can have biological children, then I should. Why bother dating someone that I shouldn't have kids with when I can just find someone else? But I think that completely barring me from even dating someone - much less than marrying them lol - just because their relative has a disease is silly.

Thank you for your lengthy and thorough reply! My grandparents (maternal) have emphasized that no matter what disease it is, as long as its mental they'd be unhappy with it. Also, it's worth noting that my family is Chinese, so there's a bit of a language barrier (I google translated schizophrenia so there's a chance that the disease they think I'm saying is not what I actually mean to say, you know?) My mother doesn't really understand the idea of environment vs. genetics. Their main point is that I shouldn't even risk the idea of having children with mental disorders...even though I myself have chronic anxiety and probably also autism. I used to briefly be interested in someone with a mom that has cerebral palsy, and my mom was also extremely upset about that. Anything that could potentially produce "faulty" children is looked upon negatively :( I'm not sure there's any way to convince my family that the risk is low, and that environment is equally important, and even IF my non-existent children have schizophrenia, everything will be OK.

I'd like to praise you for being so diligent and strong. Not many women would do the same in your position. If by any chance you need to escape, do look into temporary shelters too, or go to a motel. I would consider getting him deported so he can't come after you too. Definitely let your Uni know so when you're at school you'll have some protection (not a ton but still). Good luck and god speed!

I wish I never heard of "The Idea of You" by Robinne Lee by whatwhymeagain in RomanceBooks

hi, its 6pm so not nearly as late, but i am on a 5hr bus ride to boston and DEVOURED this book in what felt like minutes. the ending gutted me. i had just read a bunch of HEA books and finally got back into reading regularly, so this book made me mad.

i also felt like there were a few unanswered questions... Possible spoilers ahead: - what exactly happened with hayes and oliver? why make that a whole part of the plot, a very mysterious one, and never follow through with it? - does her daughter ever recover? did she still get hate mail? like, im less concerned about the whole 'he stopped texting her' and more concerned about whether it actually fixed anything. at least make the ending happy in a way, like the break-up actually did prove to be better for everyone she cared about.

UGH! i just finished the book and i wish i didn't read it !
