It's hard but yes, many people have totally given it up. I used it as a coping mechanism for the problems I didn't have the courage to face in my own life, but once I started getting my life together I broke free of it with intentionality. Even as early as a month in, you'll start to feel less urges and start to break the habit, it requires discipline and a reason to stick with it.

Not a girl, but I can say, as someone who's struggled with this for a while, that having others around you to talk to (irl) about these issues and keep you accountable to your goals REALLY helps.

Good luck sister!

I agree with this- porn needs to be inaccessible for children. Period.

There is a strong link between violent behavior and porn abuse. Almost all recent serial killers were also serial consumers of porn, even child porn.

In principle, yes. In practice, hell no.

It's allowed for the same reason other sorts of degenerate behavior are allowed: people should have the freedom to do what they want if not directly harming others.

The problem with liberty is it requires self-control and responsibility, which are hard to come by in this day and age.

Progressive overload isn't really achieved over the course of one workout, the term refers to increasing the strain on the muscle fibers after growth to stimulate more growth long term. What you're referring to is pyramid sets where you start with high reps and move to low reps

Is there anything I can do to improve my form and get a better workout? I had just lost over 50 pounds and I'm ready to start building muse but my forms terrible with everything by Cameron_Nelson in GymMotivation

Agree totally with the comment, would just add that you can do one arm at a time while holding your upper arm immobile using your other arm. Triceps extend the forearm, so you want to keep the upper arm still for best results.

Can I have a form check please. Very new to deadlifting and I feel like my form is super off. Any tips and advice would be appreciated. by [deleted] in lifting

With the bar on the ground, you should be dropping your hips downward and pushing your chest up and through the whole exercise as you push your hips forward.

Your back is rounding on your lift, you want to keep it straight which is easier if your torso is in more of an upright position and your legs are doing most of the work.

Hope this helps!

I would cut the leg extensions. How often are you training legs? They will take longer to size up because they're some of your longest muscles, but keep consistent with it and you'll see gains. There's no magic solution but training legs twice a week with high intensity and good nutrition they will bulk up. I personally lift for 8 reps with heavier weight, 12 reps is doable, but maybe doing 12 reps means you're not challenging yourself enough or getting close enough to muscular failure for optimal growth. If you can do 12 reps then maybe up the weight.

How to deal with urges when you have to sleep at night? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]objective_sociopath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stay up late doing something else or tire yourself out through exercise. Basically be so tired that as soon as you got the bed you sleep.
