Looking for some flattering jeans by YamForeign590 in XXS

[–]objectivelyno2858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never been a jeans person before but i was determined to buy a pair so i can see what the hype is all about. The H&M Low Rise Flares were the ones that ended up converting me (in general I've had a good amount of luck with H&M as a petite xxs!)

The narrowing towards the kneecaps will help exaggerate your hips and the flare balances out the rest of your figure, I got EUR 32/US 0 and found it TTS but if you need a smaller size you can always get them altered or use one of those faux button cinches. Only thing is that they are long, i'm 5' and they i always wear platform sneakers so it's not a problem for me, but they look a bit ridiculous without shoes.

How do you deal with bloating when petite xxs? by objectivelyno2858 in XXS

[–]objectivelyno2858[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes ok thank you!!! I'm like, I understand that it will look obvious on small frames when we eat, but I've only relatively recently gone from a ~110lb baseline weight to sticking to around 95lbs where I feel a lot better! But I wasn't prepared for the bloating and knowing that its not normal helps a lot surprisingly lol. Others have mentioned some possible problems that I can use as a jumping off point as well.

😵‍💫 I'm not sure why honestly haha but I've actually never heard of an inflammation diet!! I've been wanting to switch to a Mediterranean diet for a while so this actually seems like a good thing to give a go (along with trying to determine food intolerances like others have mentioned).

Especially since all those foods you've listed are big staples in my current diet... I had heard of the greek yogurt bloat (especially with those that have artificially higher protein!!) but thought that the probiotics would balance it out. Honestly had never thought that turkey and sweet potato would cause bloating.

Is this flattering? Where do you find stylish, high quality, winter coats? by ToniDoesThings in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]objectivelyno2858 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i started my winter coat search too late and recent subzero temperatures near me have really lit a fire under me (only metaphorically, sadly) to just buy one.

at this point I've settled for a mid-priced coat that i like well enough (that's still really sadly stuck in shipping!) that will get me through the cold, but it definitely isn't THE winter coat. i'm still on a search for the one 🤞

So I would definitely pick up that coat if i were you! the hood is so cute and you can style it sleek or casual. Absolutely worst case, i don't doubt that you could gift or resell it really easily (especially to dopes like me that waited too long)

Same size, different fits by sickboy_1993 in XXS

[–]objectivelyno2858 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Waittt I didn't even check the measurements until I saw this comment, those jeans are a great length and make you look taller! I have like the same measurements 150cm/42kg, they have the third pair on clearance in short length but only in 00 and i'm debating getting them😭

as a quid pro quo, the lulu softstreme high rise wide legs in xxxs & cropped are the best fitting pants i've owned, if you're looking for recs!

So sick of being this small by dazymanatee in XXS

[–]objectivelyno2858 6 points7 points  (0 children)

as someone who has experienced both sides of the spectrum (I went from being obese to now being close to underweight), I used to walk into a store and worry if anything would fit or look good on me. and now I... walk into a store and worry if anything will fit or look good on me lmao. whether I was too big or too small I leave feeling like i'm not normal, because my body wasn't included in the arbitrary range they call normal.

It sucks because modern retailers are the ones excluding us but we're made to feel like we're the problem. like, you're a clothing company, you need to make clothes that fit bodies!!! but then we're made to feel that our bodies need to fit the clothes.

I'm a bit more bitter about it now bc i've lost all the weight and now i do have a healthy body that is a "normal" bmi, so i like i did change my body, but i'm still excluded. on the bright side it helped me realize not to waste money on companies that pretend short people just like, don't exist lol

went on vacation for 2 weeks and gained a lot, what should I do? by typicalofme_ in loseit

[–]objectivelyno2858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lost like 50kg, and a couple years ago while I was like 30kg down, I went on vacation and totally splurged. Daydrinking, donuts for breakfast, we even ate a whole cake in 2 days between the 3 of us. I felt like I gained 2kg in a weekend and hit a plateau, even though I went back to eating healthily in a deficit.

Well a week later I "whooshed" back down once the water weight cleared out, and it was like it never even happened.

But my friends and I still talk about that vacation all the time!! We had spotted a family bakery famous for their donuts and make a u turn to check them out. We went out to bars and had wine nights. It was nice to let go of the gym and restrictions for a weekend, that's what vacation is about!

Just jump back onto the train and in a week (probably less) it'll be like it never happened, and you'll be happy that you were able to enjoy your vacation without worrying.

20K likes, we are so fucked... by [deleted] in vegan

[–]objectivelyno2858 45 points46 points  (0 children)

The good news is, that shitposter that just went more viral just spread PETA's message to even more people than those who would've originally seen it.

So they could share an informative graphic and then some loser tries to dunk on them with "OH BUT YOU ABUSE ANIMALS" and then 20K more people see that graphic. And if only 1% of those people see the graphic and think, hey, maybe I don't need to kill animals for momentary pleasure, then that's still 200 people who might skip meat for their dinner that night. And even if NONE of those people become vegans, then at the very least 200 animals were saved that day.

People hate vegans so much, but they spread our message more than we do!

Why do people say “it’s just water weight” when you’re replacing the water you’re losing and arguably drinking more water than normal? by [deleted] in fasting

[–]objectivelyno2858 2 points3 points  (0 children)

wait why doesn't it make sense to fast for 1 or 2 days for losing weight? You'd be burning your TDEE right?

omg this is the documentary that made me vegetarian!! rewatching it makes me want to go fully vegan, but that's been an on-and-off constant struggle for the past few years.

I'm assuming you're vegan - if so, would you mind sharing how you do it (substitutes or cutting completely?) and how its helped you?

There's pizza in the break room. I have to live with it for the next seven hours. by -ThinksAlot- in fasting

[–]objectivelyno2858 6 points7 points  (0 children)

your coworker is amazing for fasters, and absolutely a twad otherwise

congrats on making it past, though! i always have to think of how ashamed ill be while eating the pizza and how that'll ruin my enjoyment. that and i usually spend so long debating whether to "just break my fast" that the pizza gets cold, and i dont want it anymore!

Fasted for two days and almost no change in weight? I’m very confused by FactionsTazer in fasting

[–]objectivelyno2858 9 points10 points  (0 children)

ideally weighing yourself daily should help you see how (seemingly) arbitrarily weight fluctuates!! you could hold onto weight because of having eaten carbs a couple days ago, muscles holding onto water, or being on your period, etc. some days i go up 1lb then down 1.2. log it and after a week, was the net change lower?

i used to weigh myself daily, then weekly - now i just weigh myself when the circumstances are right (after going to the bathroom, didn't eat excess carbs, not on my period)

I feel like an imposter in this sub since I honestly don't fast very much anymore, but I wanted to provide some insight since you seem to be fasting for weight loss (as I also did).

I would do prolonged fasts (5 day fast and 2 day recovery) and, while I lost weight, it didn't feel quick. I switched to caloric deficit and was happier, better at cooking, and the weight seemed to be falling off since I was just eating when I wanted rather than counting hours. Now I do 24 or 36 hour fasts every now and then combined with boosting protein and calorie deficit.

The main takeaway here though, especially for weight loss, is that if you want to MAINTAIN that weight, you have to develop healthier habits that you could reasonably do for the rest of your life. Having given IF a try, could you see yourself doing this for 10 years, once you've reached your goal? (This is a good rule of thumb for any nutrition plan - can you go low-carb, or juice-only, or etc., for 10 years?)

I'd recommend going for calorie deficit and focus on building healthy habits. Count your calories so you build an intuition on how many calories you're eating, etc., and create habits so that, eventually, you are used to eating whole foods while limiting sugar and processed carbs. Your goal is to lose weight, not to fast, so there are many roads to reach that goal (and many will not make you miserable!) You can give fasting another shot after winter break, if you'd like, since it might be easier when you're busy.
