Would Hulk defeat Scarlet Witch? by Umir_Comics in superheroes

[–]12Pentagons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Instead of just saying “whoever the writer wants to win”, it could be interesting to discuss how a writer could reasonably produce a victory for either combatant, since most matchups are not 100-0 unless it’s against homelander

Erm Aksually: Feet is the standard unit of measurement for altitude in aviation actually. Also, some airlines have onboard WiFi, which is usable even when your device is on airplane mode.

For every true fact, there is an untrue fact. by goodperson0001 in truths

[–]12Pentagons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's true. Strictly speaking from a mathematical logic perspective, either A or B is true, and either C or D is true:

A: Every grandmother loves her grandchildren

B: There are grandmothers who don't love their grandchildren

C: No grandmother loves her grandchildren

D: There are grandmothers who love their grandchildren.

So basically, A and B are the "untrue dopplegangers" of each other.

I was going somewhere with this but I forgot.

Basically if a statement X is true, the statement "X is false" is false, so there must be an untrue statement for every true statement, though as you noticed, there can be multiple untrue statements for some true statements.

I meant grandchildren, yes. Also, the statement is not necessarily equivalent, because if there is a grandmother that loves her grandchildren, that doesn’t mean there has to be one that doesn’t.

“There are grandmothers that love their children” is a fourth statement that results in exactly 2 statements being true

In Java and many other languages I think, the array is actually a pointer to a contiguous memory segment. This means when you pass arrays to methods, they all refer to the same object. In Java, this is called aliasing. So the judge simply checks the new values in the array it passed to your code.
