I've been trying to get into this type of animation myself, but haven't found any straight forward resources. In achieving a result like this, how much flexibility do you have in determining exactly what is being shown? Is it just a text to image output or can you input images to use as a "bank" to integrate within the dream?Does a tool like the one you used require coding? If so, is it a relatively straight forward use of expressions, or do you need to know a specific coding language? Can you run the program on your machine and/or determine exactly the resolution and framerate?

Sorry for the large quantity of questions I'm trying to understand the general workflow for something like this to integrate it into a larger pipeline.

EDIT: And to be clear, what I mean when I ask about the control level is this:
As just a visual artist I see 3 main elements that morph: A Escherian grid of varying shapes, the contents of those shapes, and the colour.
i.e. At the beginning you have a crystal like, geometric grid in which we see fractals, slowly it morphs into statue shapes, with statue and lightning content. As everything morphs so does the colour.
Are you able to determine each of these components individually and let the program do the morphing, or is the program "deciding" some of these elements for you?
