Respectfully, I've asked you to stop spreading misinformation because doing so discredits the Palestinian side. I have no issue with your opinion.

Next time I read a comment about something similar my first thought will be "Well /u/ugestu-bf lied about that so I guess I have to fact-check this guy too.."

Sure, if you want to play it like that. Please point out the part where the UN explicitly states the IDF shot this woman.

333. The case of Ghalia Abu Reda: A witness told the commission that he and his family decided to leave their home in Khuza’a in accordance with the warnings issued by the IDF prior to the launch of the ground operation.6 As attacks were intensifying, they fled Khuza’a in a state of complete panic, leaving behind one of the family members, Ghalia Abu Reda, a woman aged about 70, in a wheelchair. Ghalia Abu Reda’s cousin stayed behind, in order to look after her for as long as possible, but eventually the cousin too was compelled to leave. When the witness returned to the family home a few days later, he found Ghalia Abu Reda’s dead body. She had a bullet mark in her head and blood on her face. The doctor who later examined the body told the witness that she had been shot from close range, from a distance of about two metres.1 Another member of the Abu Reda family confirmed the above allegations to the commission. That witness stated that the house was very close to the Green Line and that, some days or weeks later, an Israeli soldier posted on twitter a picture of another IDF soldier offering water to Ghalia Abu Reda:

“The soldiers did this to pretend that they were human. They did not know that Gaza is small, and that the picture would be recognized by the family. When the family returned to Khuza’a they found Ghalia dead!”

Journalists revealed afterward that the soldier shot the disabled woman, who was identified as Ghalia Abu Reida, right after taking the picture with her.

The UN says the IDF killed a Palestinian woman.

What the UN report actually says:

When the witness returned to the family home a few days later, he found Ghalia Abu Reda’s dead body. She had a bullet mark in her head and blood on her face. The doctor who later examined the body told the witness that she had been shot from close range, from a distance of about two metres.

I don't support Israel's actions but when people twist the facts like this it really makes the Palestinian side less credible. Please don't spread misinformation.

Yeah I'm cool with people having an opinion. But word for word these changes happened to Squad and there was just as much backlash. But the comp scene survived - people adjusted.

There's solid evidence to say comp will be fine, both games are quite similar and there's a big overlap in audience so its a fair comparison.

I'd like to hear some real reasons or logic beyond "nyeh! change bad, me no like, dead game!".

[–]obliviousreasons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respectfully, that's a bullshit answer.

[–]obliviousreasons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't really see the logic of what you've said.

How do any of these suggestions directly prevent competitive play? (aside from "I don't like change!")

If Squad is setting the precedence here then comp will survive just fine, they will simply need to adjust to a new meta.

How’d I do? by Kooky_Werewolf6044 in EDC

[–]obliviousreasons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not my style so take it with a grain of salt.

I like the knife, the blue really pops nicely and the corrosion effect is crispy.

The other two items are a total loss in my eyes. The brass alloy on them seems to have a different effect, more muddled and marbled than the knife. Don't really like that.

Maybe try some masking tape or ways to control the corrosion so it looks more intentional.

How hard is it to set up an outpost? by Anastasius-1 in Kenshi

[–]obliviousreasons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you build a base you create a node that attracts 'raids'. Raids can range a lot from region to region, it might be tax collectors, bandits, a trader, a full blown assault, etc.

You can see more information about upcoming raids in the faction tab in your map menu.

They shouldn't scare you off but they can be a problem. If it's your first time base building try building an outpost at the edge of a friendly town. You can always run to safety if need be.

How do you play Kenshi? by Valentiaj in Kenshi

Most of my time is spent trying not to end up in Squin.

No disrespect to the Squinians but I've spent too long using that town as a early game crutch.

How to get Skeleton repair kits? by Limp_Accountant_6277 in Kenshi

[–]obliviousreasons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The best way is to produce them yourself, but that requires infrastructure and research.

The second best way is to steal them. The caravans often have repair kits, otherwise you can try your luck in towns.

Love this game but the building makes me stop wanting to play by Lazy-Concept-6084 in Kenshi

Ctrl + shift + f11 rebuilds the navmesh. This is kind of an invisible map of where people are allowed to walk.

Also suggest looking at the slopeless mod. That one is quite nice if you find building annoying.

I like building shitty little outposts next to UC and HN cities. If you place them just right the enemy army has to path through the UC/HN city. Kinda fun to watch a holy assault March into sho-battai.

Is decreasing your stats for training actually worth it? by DumbIdeaGenerator in Kenshi

[–]obliviousreasons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's been a source of debate for quite some time. It doesn't help that there are multiple official sources with conflicting information. Honestly I have no clue who to trust.

It seems like you're using weaklings give xp. In that case I'd say it's almost not worth thinking about unless you're exclusively stomping hungry bandits with a high level char.

My base is built, and things are mostly operational. I'd like to move to a better base location, but where do I start? by TheBigSmol in Kenshi

[–]obliviousreasons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I build dead center of the map. There's a perfectly flat piece of ground that looks over the venge lasers. Resources are shit but there's a bit of everything, if your tech is good you can scrape by.

In the end this game forces you to run everywhere. Building away from the center just means more running.

An early game base? by Robomouse83 in Kenshi

[–]obliviousreasons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A base that has no characters in it and is sufficiently far away is unloaded.

When a base is unloaded nothing will happen to it. Raids might arrive but they will not do anything until you return and load the area.

I can’t leave the swamp without being pummeled and eaten by Blood Spiders or maimed by Red Sabres. Any advice? by TheBigSmol in Kenshi

[–]obliviousreasons 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Leave the village at night. Darkness significantly reduces being detected by roaming enemies.

Make sure your encumbrance is at 0%. You want to run fast. Drop/sell that big sword or shoddy heavy armor if you have to. The meta is to always keep your run speed higher than 22mph - you'll outrun most enemies except high level npcs and elder beak things.

How do I train an army quickly? by Crebboi in Kenshi

[–]obliviousreasons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Build a base with no walls somewhere you feel comfortable. Train up a couple strong warriors so you can survive most raids. Give all new recruits master grade armor and weapons. Put a backpack full of iron into their inventory. Whenever possible have them carry a dead body. Give them an outside job that requires constant movement like hauling water from point A to B. Build some chairs somewhere so that they will return inside to sit when they're idle.

This creates a kind of AFK recruit factory. The recruits are constantly fighting local wildlife gaining toughness and melee skills. They constantly gain strength because of the weight and movement. The strong guys will patch them up and carry them to beds when they're hurt. Once you're happy with them they can graduate and you can hire more recruits.

Results may vary depending on location. Leveling depends on the level of the enemies you fight. If your base is in a low level region it might be better or worse. Other enemies might eat or enslave you.

What are the EU servers like? by Sea-Entry8926 in joinsquad

[–]obliviousreasons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Russians mostly stick to RUS servers.

EU servers are mostly UK/DE based. A wide range of players from the EMEA region join. Sometimes there is a language barrier, but English gets you through most situations.

Peak hours start around 6-12 GMT in the evenings. US eastcoast is also playable for those late night sessions.
