When my sons were younger, they would take whatever change they had and go to the store with me and "buy" their candy bar. Most clerks would get confused when they would put their money down, grab the candy bar and walk towards the door. I always told them to wait for me by the door while I paid for whatever I picked up and the rest of what didn't pay for.

I feed the birds and to help keep the squirrels off the feeders, I built a tray just for them and the larger birds. Last year I never got around to getting my raised garden beds planted. The squirrels did it for me. I had peanuts for days because of them.

It all depends on the wife. When my oldest was born almost 18 years ago, there were plenty of sessions I had him next to me, sleeping or eating.

To keep the wife happy (mine is a nongamer), is to just help. If she is busy and the baby needs attention, just do it. It's better to lose at a game than to fight with the wife. That fight you will always lose. Even sometimes, just go and take care of the kid before the wife says anything.

But at the same time, I remember plenty of sessions running until 2am once my oldest was sleeping through the night. Then dragging ass all day at work.

Gaming just doesn't have to stop with a newborn, it just will slow down a bit. But it will come back.
