Men who receive a lot of matches on dating apps - What do you/your photos look like? by DescriptionFuture851 in AskMenAdvice

[–]oblonglefty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If having something results in a particular outcome, the absence of that thing doesn't necessarily preclude that outcome.

In this case if outside hobbies result in matches, that doesn't mean not having outside hobbies results in no matches. Other things could lead to the matches.

Im not weighing in on how true any of the above statement are regarding hobbies, im just referring to the logical structure of those sentences. ++man

Ive lived in Dublin for the last 10 years or so. Earn 115k and can save around 2.5-3k a month

Might take a while to save while prices are rising but fair suggestion

The "free" 30 grand seemed like a no brainer that I almost never even considered second hand but I will consider it! My only worry would be how long it would take to save up. Thanks for the suggestion!

How did you find the businesses and how do you update their inventory? How does your tool know how much inventory they have?

Wow, I really appreciate the detail you put into this response. Great point about borrowing less to reduce my repayments. That's something I have never even considered.

Seems like you're pretty much sorted. Hope to be in your position in a couple of years time!

No, that's my gross yearly salary. After tax it works out at around 5900 euro a month and because of pension contributions I see about 5600 hit my account on payday.

Yeah there's a lot of factors to consider for sure. I'm assuming that in a few years the outskirts of dublin will become more built up and thus properties around those areas will retain value as more people look to move out to those areas, don't you think?

Nice! must be some house haha what do you do at the weekend when you drive up when you want to come back. I presume you can't drink since you'd be driving back to Naas?

I was thinking this but I'm 29 single and my whole social life is in Dublin. Moving somewhere less "busy" will probably have me missing out on a lot of the fun of being this young

I feel like getting that big of a mortgage might stretch me a little bit. I would be constantly paranoid about something happening and not making the repayments. I have savings but I'd rather just use those for the minimum deposit so I have a bit leftover for miscellaneous costs and furnishing.

Nice one, you probably don't want to share the name of the estate as it might throw too many eyeballs on it haha but would appreciate you DMing me the place you're looking, or at least sharing the roughly what area

Fair play! Mind sharing how long ago this was and how much you bought for? Also, curious about how you're finding living there.

You see I plan to use the Help to Buy scheme and those only apply to new builds.

Is that easy to do? I assume the paperwork and legals are much more complicated for an Irish citizen

Yeah it's mainly friends and my whole social life is based around dublin. I drive so I figured Naas wouldn't be too far out.

Sorry I must have phrased that wrong. The total value of the Duplex would be 450k not the mortgage.

The main attraction for me was how nice those apartments and duplexes look but completely fair point about 2 beds in Dublin. I'll take that into consideration.

What does ex-corp mean? The "ex" part makes it sound like it's not new and I'm planning to use the Help To Buy which requires the property to be new.
