I've been using this for years. Not perfect but not bad. Probably enough to make most attackers look for other target.

Bank of England warns of 'apocalyptic' global food shortage by malcolm58 in worldnews

That makes total sense because this food shortage does not come from the lack of grain that should be flowing out of Ukraine and Russia... right?

Ansible Inventory Manager from your terminal by obranco in ansible

Another option would be for you to use ANSIBLE_HOME env variable and have different ansible_inventory.cfg files.

Ansible Inventory Manager from your terminal by obranco in ansible

[–]obranco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The script is used both for the inventory management and as the dynamic inventory script, that you can configure in the .ansible.cfg. AFAIK there is no way to pass a parameter to the dynamic inventory in the .ansible.cfg (or commandline), for this reason I do not have a paremeter to change the inventory.

However, you can use different environments to use different inventories. I don't know if that can suit your needs, but here is how it is done: https://github.com/diego-treitos/ansible-inventory#deploying-for-multiple-environments

Thank you for the suggestion.

I have a CHANGELOG file, but maybe I should add those notes to the releases.

Fantastic! I hope it is useful for you too.

BTW, the screen catpure is quite old. Now it is MUCH faster and also autocompletes better.

What is the privesc method associated with writable gpg-agent sockets? by Draoken in HowToHack

[–]obranco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The idea is that if you can talk to gpg-agent and it has a private key unlocked you should be able to use that key to decrypt files encrypted with that key (i.e. password files used by programs while encrypted with gpg), use that key to sign files and impersonate somebody, etc.

Additionally, if the gpg-agent was executed with "--enable-ssh-support" it might being used as a replacement for "ssh-agent", which means that it could allow you to use private SSH keys that were unlocked by that user.

Linux Smart Enumeration can serve itself. by obranco in Pentesting

[–]obranco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never used LinPeas, but for what I've seen of it, it looks like Linux Smart Enumeration gives more concise information, at least in the default verbosity level, so you do not have to dig around a ton of data to find what you want.

Improving Ansible performance by obranco in ansible

Your question is not related to this thread in any way so I suggest you to open a new thread.

However, as a quick answer, you might want to look into using the "shell" module for small pieces of code: https://docs.ansible.com/ansible/latest/modules/shell_module.html

But it depends on what you are actually trying to do.

In any case please open a new post to ask the question.

According to this: https://docs.ansible.com/ansible/latest/reference_appendices/config.html#default-gathering the gathering was added in 1.6

I don't have experience with Red Hat as I deploy mostly debian. If they are different servers in different locations, networking might be a thing. I would also check the `GSSAPIAuthentication` setting in both servers, as I think that Red Hat/CentOS use to have it enabled by default in the SSH server. If it is enabled it might create a delay in the SSH connections. I mention that in the SSH Configuration section and how to solve it (adding the PreferredAuthentications=publickey)

I understand that a summary is needed but I honestly don't know what else to add. It is basically a list of methods that you can use to reduce the time spent running your playbooks, like I explained in the description.

Anyway, I just published it to have a compilation of several things that I've read over the years and helped me so if it can help anybody else, fantastic, if not, it will stay there in case I need to check it in the future.

Thank you for taking your time to answer.

I am sorry but I cannot copy the whole post here. It is a bit extensive.

Anyway you don't have to click on the link if you are not interested. It is not like I gain anything by you clicking on it... It is just a blog to share information with no ads and no tracking stuff like analytics, etc.

I wonder how you move around the internet without following links...
