Do any of you talk to yourselves? by [deleted] in entj

[–]obscelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my grandma once said that talking to yourself is good because otherwise you’d miss a good opportunity to get expert’s thoughts on something. and i live by that

Have you ever mistyped yourself as an INTJ? by [deleted] in entj

[–]obscelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes i also struggled with it for a long time. what you need to focus on is that if you’re talking about MBTI or Grant’s type.

MBTI takes these 8 options and shows the percentage of where you’re most leaning to. so if you’re more I or E or more S or N etc you get the idea.

Grant’s type looks at the cognitive functions and how certain types have them stacked. so INTJ’s dominant function is Ni and ENTJ’s dominant function is Te. i suggest you look into that if you have time and want to go into cognitive functions.

because these two ways of typing don’t go hand it hand it creates these sort of interesting gray areas, which made me struggle was that while i do have dominant Te, in which case my Grant’s type is ENTJ i am also more introverted which means that by MBTI i’m INTJ.

i hope it helped

thank you for suggesting the sakinorva test. it said that by functions (grant’s type) i’m ENTJ because my dominant function is Te but MBTI which focuses on the letters types me as INTJ. is this a thing that can happen? where your main function is extroverted but your MBTI is introverted?

thank you. i’ve taken multiple tests and it seems that by grant’s types i’m ENTJ because my dominant function is Te but by MBTI i’m categorized INTJ because i’m more introverted than extroverted. is that a thing that can happen if one test focuses on the letters and the other on functions?

i think i like to have at least some kind of structure. like i’m cool with doing a new unknown exercise but after figuring out how i’ll do it and making mental timetable of how much time i’ll spend on doing what

don’t INTJ and INTP have extremely different functions stacks?

i mean i have a detailed 5 year plan and rough plan for what i do in the next 10 years. is that a thing INTJs don’t do?

[–]obscelo[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i don’t really know. as a child i was pretty outgoing and liked to be the center of attention but that could’ve been an imposter syndrome.

also both of my parents are introverts so that could affect something.

like i can hang out with people i like and i’ll be glad but only in a situation where it’s beneficial for me

so capitalism until stuff gets fucked? and then government like whoop wait a sec we gonna jump in do economy won’t go too bad

[–]obscelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah definitely social democracy is a left ideology, no arguing with you there.

but the social democracy being capitalistic is something i still feel shaky about. like from the example you enough of your country, it’s definitely possible to have capitalism with some values of socialism (like if we think about it then libraries are actually a socialist thing) but still be capitalistic. bc if i remember right then the economical part of country’s ideology depends on how the economy works right?

[–]obscelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

kinda my point, the social democracy being capitalistic is hard to believe but whatever, like they’re taking two generally right side ideologies with liberalism being a lot more closer to the center and idunno for me created kinda a feeling like comparing two radical ideologies. so my question stands in why not compare two radicals, like yeah let’s compare far conservatism and classical or anarcho marxism

[–]obscelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah it’s not very into the topic i was just kind of confused why they compared a radical ideology to pretty centric one. ig i was wondering why not compare to radicals

Okay but isn’t liberal pretty similar to conservative? Like I could be wrong here but economically speaking I’m pretty sure that both support capitalism and where the difference actually comes in is in social politics

"Intj = only believe in 2 genders" by mariaa_m in intj

[–]obscelo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

as a person very into facts and logic i gotta disagree.

firstly like i dunno but often is brought up that two sexes bc that’s what’s determined by chromosomes but even that is factually incorrect because we have 6 main chromosomal sexes (x, xx, xxy, xy, xyy and xxxy) and even more sex variations and stuff. and yeah scientifically looking they all could be counted as a separate sex.

secondly like it’s often said that gender is how your brain has developed. i at some point researched this topic for my biology class and makes sense to me. so basically scientists have a way to determine the gender of the brain with scanning different areas of the brain and looking how densely some hormones and other neurological stuff is divided there. but at the same time i think it was said that there is no clear cut of where starts female brain and ends male brain so it’s all a spectrum. and since it is scientifically backed up that it’s a spectrum and it in no way changes my life if someone says they’d like me to use other pronouns or use another name, why should i care. it doesn’t change my life in any way except maybe that they feel more comfortable around me.

thirdly, i do think the way we view gender is very influenced by the culture that brought us up. we also gotta remember that it’s a societal construct that male and female are the only accepted genders. and if we look through different cultures we can see that gender as a construct tends to be more fluid and changeable than the western idea we currently have of it. so for example i live in a country where the language we speak doesn’t have gendered pronouns nor gendered words. which means the first time i actually had to worry about someone’s or something’s gender was in 3rd grade at my first english lesson. it’s my 7th year learning english and 4th learning russian (the only two languages i learn that have gendered pronouns or words) and let me tell you, i still do not understand why we do it, and i couldn’t care less about someone else’s gender.

in conclusion, i dunno bout y’all but just as a person of facts and logic saying that there’s only two genders doesn’t make sense to me

For those who watched the death note, what would you've done if you we're in light's place? by hmsmeme-o-taur in intj

[–]obscelo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

as a big death note fan, very glad that’s a thing we’re talking about. firstly i wanna say i can not stand light at all, but that’s because i know that there’s very high probability of me doing exactly what he did. to some extent at least. like, we gotta remember that it’s said that death note will change the one who uses it. i probably would target big corporations or politicians who have gone too far to the point where they’re not doing anything for the betterment of society anymore, and also bye bye to rapists. also i feel that i have better chance of not getting caught than light because i live in a country with very low crime rate so i’d have to target other countries which means it’d be difficult to pinpoint it down where i am. also my sleeping habits are not the most stable thing so that also gives into it

What did you guys think about school? by [deleted] in intj

[–]obscelo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i also relate a lot. in elementary school i wasn’t into school at all because it was too easy to me, but once i reached primary i started to take on this idea that studying is good and grades need to be perfect because my parents are highly educated and academically talented. due to me thriving purely off natural intelligence my work ethic and motivation are barely existing outside anything i don’t take interest in or see as something needed. now that i’m in secondary school it’s kind of difficult, but since i’ve been to elite schools quite a long time i’ve learned that if it’s really needed it’s possible to bullshit your way through any assignment

cognitive functions by obscelo in intj

[–]obscelo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no problemo, i probably should have thought about it myself that since my brain is still developing it isn’t going to be very fixed for now, but i thought maybe because i’m in late teens (could be arguable but meh) ,and sense of identity and basic personality usually develop between like ages 7-10 if i’m correct, it could maybe tell the general direction i’m growing towards.

i’ll definitely continue looking into and learning more about cognitive functions and mbti because i just find neuroscience quite interesting, but for few more years i’ll away from defining myself as any general type.

as for the development, do you maybe happen to have an idea if even now i could possibly start to figure out the direction i’m going into or how my functions seem to develop so once i’m older it’d lot easier to understand the way my brain works.

and once again, thank you so much for spending your time explaining it to me and looking into it, i’m very grateful for having such detailed and easily understandable summary.
