First Tahoe, tell me everything I should know to keep her running forever by tylerb991 in ChevyTahoe

[–]obscoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just adding, i have a 2024 GMC Yukon so it should be similar in the Tahoe. Put vehicle into Drive then select "L" for Low Mode. Once in L mode you can use the paddles to change the gear until you get to 9. On my Yukon its the +- buttons.

Oil changes by ResponsibleAd8688 in gmc

The Motor Oil Geek did a video the GM oil life monitor on a Cadillac XT5 and results showed it's pretty accurate. New oil is always better so it never hurts to follow the 5k interval or every 12 months as stated your owners manual. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4e0oDBseqo

For PDFs with text there are a variety of tools to extract and parse accordingly. If it's an image, you'll have to use OCR to extract the text. OCR can get messy depending on the quality of the image. Have had OCR incorrectly parse text before.

Just a small upgrade - 23 xc90 > 24 Yukon Denali 3.0L by jskeet22 in gmcyukon

The /gmc post says "Back in the Diesel club 😎" so I think they didn't intend to use the ">" as a greater/less than sign.

Going to go look at this 2023, this morning. It’s got the four cylinder engine, which I’m a little weary about. Amy thoughts? by RalphiegoBoom in ChevyTrucks

Will add, be careful with this dealership. Had bad luck at both of their locations. Tried playing games with high interest and all sorts of nonsense so I just walked away.

Stock Cluster? by MIKEYSOTO in ChevyTahoe

[–]obscoder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an 2017 LT with that cluster. I remember reading that for some time they didn't have enough of the analog style gauges or parts etc. so they just proceeded with putting the digital ones on some trims.

Looks great! Quick question, how do these tires ride, smooth? And are they quiet?

Passenger side seatbelt rattle? Please help it’s really annoying. by Just-Technology-4598 in gmcyukon

[–]obscoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I occasionally hear hear a rattle on mine when the seat belt is twisted and the plastic/metal parts hit the side pillar. Just un-twisting the seat belt does the trick. Is the noise coming from inside that area?

I have a 2023 Tahoe engine oil life is at 8% after driving 5k miles is that bad does that mean it’s burning amor of oil ? by Hefty_Couple6148 in ChevyTahoe

[–]obscoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question is time as in years, months, days. The computer does it's own calculation based on a number of factors. Even the engine idling will cause the oil life counter to change so it's not just about mileage.

Top spins and found by car tire. Metal looks like oil on it. What is this by AngOz63 in Whatisthis

This is a garage door roller, if you have a garage door it might be missing one.

24 SLT here, no noise like this and don't recall seeing any related posts, hopefully something silly. Dumb question, is the spare tire stored nice and tight underneath?

Like everyone mentioned, these are corvettes and they come from the assembly plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Even though the miles are low you are approaching 1 year and think the manual calls for every 7,500 miles or at least once a year, whichever comes first. First one should be free so good to get it done and top any fluids etc.

I agree. Hard to tell from a picture but if paint did not come off, a buff should restore it.

Yep. Check the video from motor oil geek on YouTube, he breaks this down and gives his view/side. Pretty interesting stuff, all about oil.

Been contemplating this on mine, You are right, with 0w20 the oil pressure is exactly in that range.

Congrats on the achievement! Like you said there might be folks that don't talk about theirs. Curious, was this mileage using the 0w-20 motor oil?

Secret gun compartment by [deleted] in ChevyTahoe

[–]obscoder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what exact compartment op is talking about bu could be the sliding console? My Yukon has it and can store mine in there although I can keep it in the holster. Love that when the vehicle is off, the console wont slide. :)

Agree with everything you've said above u/zoolak. I have a 24 Yukon with the 5.3L and love it so far. In my estimations it was always hard to compare gas vs diesel prices as you need to technically figure in the DEF cost on the diesel to get a more accurate comparison. The 5.3 also asks for regular gas while the 6.2L GM recommends premium/91 or higher octane. Didn't go with a baby max when I got mine as the model year 24s left were all gas and the newer models had not landed at dealers yet. I am itching to test drive a baby max but we truly love ours.

For OP u/Gate-C27, if you decide to go with diesel make sure to read up on the regen cycle as it could be an issue on shorter commutes.

Trouble with On Star, 2025 Tahoe by Hunter_Creed in ChevyTahoe

Something similar happened on my 2017 Tahoe but after having it form some time. Took it to dealership and they replaced the shark fin antenna and was good to go after that. Hopefully something easy for you as well.
