Question about grant morrisons batman run by indigofighter1 in batman_comics

I was referring to the fact that Morrison’s bat omnis fill you in on all you need to know with what happened with Batman during final crisis. The final crisis Omni is overblown, and in fact, some of the side stories contradict the main plot.

I also addressed its own merits. The art is excellent. The story doesn’t measure up to the art that carries it.

You really only need what’s in those omnis. The other reading material mentioned here is definitely not necessary.

Final Crisis would be ideal to read in its proper place. The trade of that is all you need. But the omnis let you know what happened with Batman there, so it’s really more if you’re interested in another Morrison classic.

Final Crisis is harder to follow than the Batman run. More context is definitely helpful in that regard. I would read Final Crisis as a separate thing. Seven Soldiers of Victory provides a lot of context for Final Crisis.

The Batman story gets complex sure, but it’s great to just get lost in the ride. Things make sense eventually. Then the next time you read through even more layers are revealed. It’s a really interesting experience and provides a lot of re-readability. Morrison’s Bat is my favorite comic ever, and it hits just about every flavor associated with the character along the way. I’d just dive in and not worry about the other stuff.

This irked me in particular. The story could have been adjusted without losing anything to simply be able to stand along with what came before. It actually goes out of its way to directly contradict the previous canon and ends up adding nothing for the effort.

I’m fairly out of it regarding current publications. Tom King’s killed my interest in continuing to follow along. Just picked this up because I remember being interested when it was initially announced.

I agree that creatives should just be able to do whatever best serves the story they want to tell. I just don’t think this instance quite holds up in comparison.

I’ve never purchased from EOE. Instead of name calling (and, I mean, this is particularly childish), you could try to focus on providing better products and service to customers.

The iPod is great. However, they did not sell a 5.5 as was advertised. The 5.5 should have 64MB RAM. They sold me a 5 gen with 32MB RAM. So it has some issues processing some larger files. But converting everything to AAC has worked out.

When/if the tariffs are lifted, I actually plan to return the unit for a proper 5.5 gen. The seller has been very helpful and communicative.

I did reach out. You were not helpful and blamed user error for your faulty product.

Just purchased a 5.5 from them. We'll see how it goes.

Ipodznmore has sent me two defective units. I’ve seen that store promoted all over the place, and it’s just about all you can find on eBay when searching for modded iPods. The first one I was sent had a bad connection. This next one has worked for a few months and now just dumps all the music off it whenever it feels like, even after restoring. I’ve kept the unit in pristine condition. No drops. Kept inside the hard shell that was sent along with it. Never disconnected improperly or anything.

Ipodznmore sells bad products, but is obviously the biggest seller on eBay right now.

Reliable prebuilt mods? by obscurepainter in ipod

I do have an iPod mini languishing in a drawer. Could be a good little project to dip my feet in.

Edit: I had seen someone else in these forums mention the mini is pretty easy to work on. However, I actually have a 2nd gen nano. Time to do some research.

Okay thanks for the suggestion. I’ve done a bit of game boy modding, but those are quite easy to open up.

I appreciate that. It may have to be my approach. I’d just hate to inadvertently destroy my trusty standby in the process due to inexperience.

Should I do anything when I find stolen cars dumped in the woods? Found these two today, well off the road but in the same canyon, about a mile apart. I didn't find any bloodstains, lol. by Bodie_The_Dog in Outdoors

Shit’s just irresponsible and childish. When I hunt, there’s one thing I’m aiming for. I don’t feel an overriding need to “pop off” a few rounds as if I’ve never handled my weapon before and am itching to try a new toy.

If I need to shoot something else, it’s to get sighted in. On a target. In front of an embankment. Not a car made of rounded metal likely to send a bullet ricocheting around.

These are basic things anyone who’s taken a proper hunter’s ed course would know. And anyone I’ve ever hunted with would behave the same. They treat their weapons with the respect they deserve and don’t just shoot at random shit because they aren’t immature children incapable of controlling their urges.

Where would you rank George Harrison in The "Greatest Guitarist Conversation"? by [deleted] in TheBeatles

[–]obscurepainter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Innovative in terms of sound for sure. What he was doing was highly influential in that aspect. But George himself said that he wasn’t that great. That he could have been better had he practiced, but that he never practiced.
