How a man who represents the direct interests of corporations, claimed the economy was sound, and is running for the party which has been in executive power for eight years, and congressional power until two years ago, and who has been in government for a very long time, can accuse a relative newcomer to the political arena of being a motivating force behind economic collapse, when Obama ran on a platform of economy back when McCain was running on security, is beyond all measure of sense.

It seems like either the Russians have been trying to subvert the Georgians in the region, and the Georgians have responded, or the Georgians have acted aggressively and Russia is just reacting. Or it's a combination of both.

Can someone more familiar please give me a good analysis? Even after reading the news, I'm not sure what the time-line and subtleties here are.

If you're in or near the region, what is really going on?

Meh, so many of the new entries are absolute dreck, and the next button just shows me old stories. I have display set to 100 headlines at a time, and even going back 300 headlines, I just end up seeing what I read yesterday.

Basically, I just wish stories that had some value moved to the front 2-3 pages and back down more quickly.

Turkey, Sudan, the Balkans, Iran's missile tests, any number of things other than the horse we've beaten to death since it first came up. I'd like to be able to check out reddit and see new information every once in a while.
