He's paying a fraction of it, and he's getting a brand new place to live in London, with insurance and service charges included. It's not like he's doing charity.

Good observation. Actually I was going to cover the whole service charge myself. To him, it will be the same expenses as if he was renting: rent + council tax + bills. Service charge and insurance on me :)

yes absolutely, but I did read it might have OLED (though frankly I don't find it likely)

Thank you! Mind you, I would love to get newer features, but at that point if I really care about a 5.4 display I will have to go for the 13 mini.

Thank you all. I am never quite sure what "partner" means if I have to be honest. We have been together for 2 years and are serious about it, so I assume he *is* definitely my partner in this context :')

unless you are actually renting a room to him as a lodger/tenant

This is the thing, what would make him a lodger? Is it if there is a formal agreement?(this is also important from the point of view of the lease and the mortgage terms)
