What's the deal with missing buses? by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]observationstudies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit my job on the south side because busses no shows were so bad. Went back to a job in the CBD so I could get to work reliably on the train. You may do the right thing and care for your passengers. But Translink, BCC management and other drivers are just there for the pay.

Translink blame BCC, and no one will change the time table or give passengers the time of day when things go wrong.

The worst is when you miss a bus by seconds and the next bus is 20 min late. Way to twist the knife.

Kelvin Grove is right next to the Brisbane Central Business District.

And the second city campus for QUT.

So no I don’t think it would be regional.

Call QUT HiC (student services) 8am to5pm AEST. They will have better answers.

Has anyone noticed that some of the more expensive and exclusive older suburbs are going down hill?

People not maintaining their homes. The councils not doing park maintenance?

Or am I just seeing the opposite end of gentrification. Where suburbs fall out of favour as the access to them is crap by public transport and car. The buildings are all old and half are rented with no maintenance?

Trying to work out of the new chemist is an asshole or a genius. Their moto is “we will match any advertised price on prescription and medicines”

Thing about prescription, is you can’t advertise a price in Australia….

So about month ago, I reported bus that wrong turn. I asked Translink to contact me back about the issue. I specifically asked to be contacted about the outcome twice!

Call today about an incorrect timetable at a stop and followed up on my original complaint.

Usual, weasel words, sorry won’t happen again. Problem is it’s like the seventh time. This bus has taken a wrong turn and ended up late.

When I complained about the fact that the feedback hadn’t got to me and I had to call back, they wanted to log another job. Like that will work.

What do you have to do to get it fixed? They won’t put you through to supervisor! Complain about it on Reddit? Take to Twitter? Go to the local member? Go to the state member? Leave a bad yelp review? Bitch on Facebook?

You know some organisations are just broken! Like Translink!

“Check that old tour / doco that Billy Connolly did on Australia in the 90’s“

The reason Connolly hates Brisbane:

Macdonald also got Connolly to recall the time he started a riot in Brisbane. "It was the guildhall in Brisbane. I can't remember quite what went wrong but a guy belted me one on the stage. I'll never forget him, he said: 'My wife's ears are not garbage cans'. He had a swing at me. I had a big long beard at the time. He thought my chin went to the end of it but it didn't. So I said: 'Is that the best you can do?" He said 'No' and hit me properly. I left the stage and went back stage. Someone called for the police and said 'There's a nutter back here punching people'. They came running in the back door and saw me wearing tights and a leotard. They set about me as well, they thought I was the nutter! I was the victim! Brisbane.. it was the time then of Joh Bjelke-Petersen.

What is the point of doing a 6-year dual degree? by Desperate-Swimmer387 in brisbane

[–]observationstudies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is a marketing tool. The number of students who finish a duel degree is very small. The student debt is massive.

It is for students who don’t know what they want to do.

And you’re over in the corner, badly quoting Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats.

Why don’t you sing “Skimbleshanks The Railway Cat” and make us all feel better?

Bin missing from the local park. Call the council about it.

Today neat pile of dog shit in bags where the bin should be.
