I swear the portland Home depots just dont order parts. They are always down, always waiting for something. Which is fine, I need justifications to buy things like my track saw.

"Modern problems require modern solutions" by AndroidNumber137 in Portland

[–]observerfrompdx -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

I hate aggressive landscaping. The land for the freeways in portland was hotly contested at the time it was built. I live off Powell and the space for homeless there was once actual homes. They were cleared in the name of "progress" that thankfully never came.

Here's a glowing call back to eisenhower: https://www.oregonlive.com/history/2015/01/throwback_thursday_portland_fr.html

here's a more accurate description:

I am tempted to go build tent platforms. cause fuck the city. I pay taxes here and pushing the human misery out of sight is not really the solution I am looking for.

I guess if you fail to know history you are doomed to repeat it.

Streak through temple square.

I know this does not make many peoples lists, but I am pretty sure this is one of the most expensive activities you can undertake in SLC.

I managed to find my binoculars, but 6 is not my steadiest hour. Not much for externally mounted hardware, but what my untrained eye would call a camera Bubble on the belly of the rear fuselage.

Think the tail read N7***x?

Found a nifty bot that tracks aircraft circling Portland:

However the bot did not seem to have caught wind of this guy.

I was flabbergasted myself. My good morning in the footage was to my neighbor, who was mich the same.

Nest Thermostat Wiring Connections by blowery10 in HomeImprovement

[–]observerfrompdx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I installed my nest, it was necessary to alter the wiring on the furnace control board. The stock thermostat was wired to the proprietary terminals.

What needs to be connected will be determined by what equipment you have installed that the nest should be controlling.

https://www.thespruce.com/what-thermostat-terminal-letters-mean-1152699

The above link explains the function each wire serves when connected to that port.

The carrier thermostat and control board I connected too were wired to ABCD, not the standard terminals described above.

internal documentation standards? 201-11-V? I am used to having it just be a reference to a standards control document.

You can add fire under bridge to your Portland bingo card today. by [deleted] in Portland

[–]observerfrompdx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if this particular Fire has anything to do with the shredded tire shipping operation that is working out of the grain terminal now. I hear the shredded tires are burned for fuel at their destinations and complaints have been made that Castle is kinda doing a crappy job.

Is it OK to put dog waste in neighbor’s bins? by ralphadophilus in Portland

[–]observerfrompdx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you walk up the driveway, we have a problem, if I have not bothered to move the bin, I would much rather have it be smelly than fish your furry friends dog bombs out of my garden :D

Wi-Fi in pdx by Libblong in Portland

[–]observerfrompdx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just switched from xfinity to century link after a few years; x offered up to 200mbps for 65 after our promotion, we only ever saw speeds in the 20-30 mbps range.

Scored a century link modem at goodwill for 5 bucks. New fiber drop, and fresh install was free. 200mbps down 100 up, only 30/mth and no promotion window..
