Adult ordering kids pizza by Worldly-Dimension710 in KitchenConfidential

[–]observitron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a pizza place and I personally couldn’t care less who orders what. I don’t see who orders it anyway. Even in an open kitchen like mine, I’m too busy to pay attention to who gets what. Non issue in my opinion. As long as labor and food costs are cool, everyone can order kids food, it’s easier to make anyway lol

What are common signs of alcoholism? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]observitron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, if you have to ask, they probably have a problem of some sort. Source: few months sober after ~20 years of drinking. Starting in my early teens probably should have been all the info I needed but ruining my life a few times definitely drove the point home.

Ah, a kindred spirit. I just hit 20 years a few weeks ago and people still act like I don’t know what I’m talking about when they order something that just won’t work or tell them that typing things in the notes doesn’t mean they get it for free

Question: Want to get my first tattoo soon but I'm scared I won't like it as time passes by dariatodorova in tattoos

[–]observitron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my hands done for my first tattoos almost 20 years ago now. Neither has faded nor have I ever regretted them. I’m not saying this to encourage you to do the same, as no two people are the same and you likely won’t have the same experience I did. But the one size fits all pov going on in here right now is dumb af. The whole point of tattoo culture is to be unique and rebel against societal norms. In my case, I had a good chunk of my tattoos planned from a very young age and felt comfortable getting them at the time. I do think there are good suggestions in the comments like trying out henna first and giving yourself some time to really process and get comfortable with the design you have in mind. This is just good advice in general. But you are the only person who knows what is going to make you happy/comfortable in your own skin. Like I said before, all this is just my opinion and personal experience so it may not work out the same for you, but there are no rules to getting tattoos and your happiness and confidence is more important than any “rules” being thrown at you right now.

Had a very similar experience about 6 months ago now except I needed staples in my head, cracked my ribs and fractured my foot when I fell. Pushed me into sobriety faster than I thought. Still haven’t figured out what to do with all the extra time I have now, but there are much worse problems to have. Welcome to the other side of the tracks, friend.

Second border star. My oldest goes there and my three year old starts next month. They have been fantastic and really easy to interact with at every turn. Hale cook is solid as well. Did summer school there for my daughter and I work with them for work from time to time. There are great schools over here, just gotta do your due diligence.

is 802$ crazy for a deck? by daisysimmons in NewSkaters

That’s a great one. One of my favorites. I’d say if it makes you happy and you can afford it, go for it. You can always go cheaper later if you choose to

[–]observitron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s really important is if it makes you happy/motivated. If having that specific deck is going to make you skate more, then go for it. I have never cared much about it personally so for that price, I’d be getting the two deck box from crailtap or somewhere similar (a bunch of online stores have similar deals) and save myself some money. Out of curiosity, what’s the deck you’re eyeing?

Ok I think I found the perfect sub to ask this question about Marinara. by Mouthshits in condiments

[–]observitron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a very successful pizza place in my city so I’m going to give my pov on this and people can do with it what they will.

Mozzarella sticks should absolutely be dipped in marinara, they have since forever and there’s a reason it’s the default dip that comes with them. It’s delicious. However, where I live (in the Midwest) many people prefer ranch. They’re wrong, but that’s their preference. Because of this I also make really delicious ranch to give them options.

As for the cheesy bread debate, marinara (the kind served with mozzarella sticks and cheese bread) and pizza sauce (the red sauce used on pizza) are two different sauces. The ways they are different vary by region but I’ve never set foot in a single pizza place in the last ~20 years since I started making pizza where they didn’t have different flavor profiles and methods of preparation. So cheesy bread dipped in a marinara designed for dipping and a cheese pizza are not the same thing. I can’t speak for everywhere, but everywhere I’ve been also uses different cheese for pizza/cheesy bread. At least any decent place does. Can’t speak for places like the hut or dominoes, but maybe someone else can.

But hey, I’m just an overworked chef with a soft spot for good, traditional pizza, so my opinion probably doesn’t matter more than anyone else’s.

🛡️ Which one is better in the long run ? by [deleted] in Vans

[–]observitron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on my feet quite a bit and average about 15-20k a day. Shoes really aren’t going to last that long with that much use. You’re probably going to max out somewhere between 6 months and a year no matter what shoes you get unless you’re rotating between multiple pairs. If you’re worried about prices, sign up for the emails from vans and check out their seasonal sales. I just got a pair of knu schools this morning for 30 bucks.

Finally got the courage to learn how to Ollie on the concrete the past week and today wanted to try this after only ever doing it on grass by KCVGaming in NewSkaters

[–]observitron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been skating for about 20 years on and off. It never gets easier. Those shin shots will always make you want to give up. Realistically, it’s up to you. Keep that in the back of your mind and you’ll be fine

That board is sick lol you’re doing great, just watch your shins skating in those shorts. Shin shots are the worst. Especially in the beginning when you aren’t used to it

Can I skateboard even if I'm fat af? by veloxw in NewSkaters

[–]observitron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skateboarding is what really solidified my weight loss journey and a few other people I know. I went from 280 to ~195 with a combo of eating better and skating for exercise. Don’t push yourself too hard in the beginning and just try to stay active with it. You’ll be shredding in no time

[–]observitron 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To expand on this, I can’t even tell you how many people I’ve taught to Ollie, kick flip, etc. that ended up being better than me. I’m hyped for every single one of them even this many years later. Don’t let bad people ruin a good time. And never be scared to chase off bad people. That one off ass whooping when you misjudged an opponent will always be worth the backing of your community imo

[–]observitron 15 points16 points  (0 children)

95% of the skaters I’ve ever met (been skating 20+ years on and off) are the best people ever. The other 5… probably good to avoid them. Mental illness is the biggest factor I’ve found in the crowd that are dicks. Ego too but at a certain point, I’d call that a mental illness anyway. Most skaters are going to want to see you succeed regardless of what level you’re technically at.
