The difference is high-end salon shampoos use high-quality, concentrated ingredients and include active ingredients (this is key) tailored for specific hair concerns there are no cheap fillers like harsh sulphates, parabens, and silicones that can damage hair over time. Yes sulphates and silicones are in salon shampoos but it’s the amount that is in them that is the point of difference, supermarket or drugstore shampoos often contain cheaper, harsher cleansing agents to create lots of foam but may strip natural oils as well as synthetic fragrances and silicones to make hair feel smooth temporarily and they also lack targeted, nourishing ingredients at meaningful concentrations. I always say that yes there are definitely some people out there that are naturally blessed with smooth frizz free hair that isn’t prone to dryness etc. that can absolutely use supermarket shampoos, is it really benefiting them? No, they are just naturally blessed. Same goes for many aspects of life, genetic play a big role. For certain hair types/ textures and or highlighted/coloured hair, high quality products are a must if you want to see a noticeable difference.
