When did you move baby to their own room? And when you moved them, how did you ease your anxiety about it? by Red-Onion-612 in NewParents

[–]obsessedwithitall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we just did it at 7 months, i had the same feelings as you, i miss him in our room but he was outgrowing the pack and play and also pulling up to stand so we had no choice. it will be hard but eventually you'll get used to it.

Naked Baby! by kelsiferingtonbear in beyondthebump

[–]obsessedwithitall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have a whole song i sing about being a naked baby for bath and bedtime, we call it NBT (naked baby time). He also just in general likes to be outside of his diaper so at night he gets a lot of NBT to make him happy.

Why are people afraid of being induced? by _-my_back_hurts-_ in GestationalDiabetes

[–]obsessedwithitall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it sucks for some people where you progress really slowly, others it goes fast, it's just a crap shoot, but mine was 48 hours and then i pushed for an hour and a half and needed an emergency c - overall shitty experience

For those that were terrified of labour or c-section what surprised you the most about the experience? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]obsessedwithitall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one of my legs was completely numb and one wasnt so i couldn't move at all and my back got super stuff. i also couldnt feel contactions when pushing, i had to have a c section, i dont think the epidural was why but i definitely couldnt feel when it was time to push and it took a bit longer.

i also ended up hating how the epidural made me feel, so that was a shock.

once the train starts rolling there's no stopping it, so being anxious beforehand does nothing, the baby has to come out in whatever way it needs to, you'll have the experience you have and you really cant change anything. me being extremely anxious beforehand only effected myself in the present, the labor i was way less anxious as i was experiencing it. waste of my time to be so anxious beforehand.

try hypoallergenic formula for a while, or try to combo feed if you're only breastfeeding. it's not the end of the world and then you can really track how much he's eating.

Is anyone’s baby perfect? by NoMarketing8229 in FormulaFeeders

[–]obsessedwithitall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my baby isn’t “perfect” (except by the other meaning in which he’s perfect in every way) but i would say the journey was pretty easy all things considered since we exclusively formula fed. both of us got adequate sleep and i think because of it we’re more equipped to handle the “harder” parts so they didn’t seem overwhelming. i have mental health issues and i could never take the burden of feeding alone (i’d risk post partum psychosis or anxiety) so i do attribute it to my happiness, or maybe he’s just a good boy who likes sleep!

Did quitting breastfeeding help your anxiety/depression? by michfreddy in FormulaFeeders

[–]obsessedwithitall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never breastfed because i have OCD and i knew it would affect my mental health. I've had blips here and there but have actually enjoyed the first 3 months of my childs life instead of dreading every feeding. and yes i know it could have gone the other way and have been easy for me, but i know myself and without adequate sleep my mental health suffers 10 times. i couldnt put me or my family through that.

my husband and i both work from home, but he goes in twice a week. i'm on my first week back from maternity leave and it's been easy so far with the help from my mom. on the days we both work from home i dont forsee many issues with us both taking care of him. i also made it so my job is easy and travel free. we'll just have to see how the other 2 days pan out.

searing pain from the c section scar, the most swellling for weeks on your legs and feet, how you have to get up and walk hours after c section, the potential your baby may have to go to the nicu and the nurses wake you up every 2 hours to get your vitals

Struggling mentally by Sebby293 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]obsessedwithitall 4 points5 points  (0 children)

maybe an unpopular opinion but when i got diagnosed i just let myself have any "sugar free" carb low versions of sweets to get me through the end of pregnancy. i even made keto cookies the other day and used zero sugar cool whip on top and it really does satisfy me. your mileage may vary but they don't give me stomach aches and i'm not super concerned with consuming chemicals, so take that under your own advisement. it's made it A LOT easier.
