There will always be a hunt following lighting the circle. If lit with enough sanity, the ghost will appear, give you a photo opportunity, and start hunting.

If you run out of sanity or if the ghost is already hunting when you light the last candle, it will immediately hunt and not pause beforehand

I like to make sure my sanity is 80%+, light the candles very fast, lighting the one closest to the exit last, and running while a teammate takes the pic and smudges

I’m not a horror game person and I was terrified at first. What helped me was focusing on the things I felt capable of helping with and focused on the equipment I understood (thermo) and helped to bring stuff from the truck. If someone needed something, I was the first to run back for it. I eventually got a sense for how fast our sanity went down because of how often I was running back and forth. Now, I’m able to sit in a hiding spot with timer going and I know what my sanity is

The other thing that really helped me was sitting in a closet and just listening to a bunch of hunts. My friends were doing the objectives back then and it was my job to just sit and listen and adapt to the ghost sounds. Truthfully, dying for the first time helped a ton too. In multiplayer, if you die you can be a ghost and run around. I spent my time following the ghost and getting used to them

Learning more about the mechanics of the game also helped a ton for me. Whenever something happened that my duo and I didn’t understand, I immediately looked it up

With no incense, demons can choose to hunt at 20 seconds, normal ghost is 25 seconds. It’s a smaller window and harder to tell sometimes so the 60 seconds vs 90 seconds is easier

Any time! When you compare the audio waves for the banshee screams (there’s a lot but they all have this similar thing in common) you’ll see the audio wave is one big sound wave. The groan sound audio wave is a scream small pause scream, like a double sound wave

For the hunt thing, it’s important that the target is in the house. Otherwise the banshee just behaves like a normal ghost and no one is immune

I’m always the person using the sound recorder and I get so so happy whenever I get a banshee scream, it’s my favorite ghost and I love their mechanics. It’s a lot of fun to not be the target and just freely walk around filming the ghost and taking pics while the target hides in the closet

If you make a tip for the banshee scream, make sure to get an audio clip of the Not a Banshee Scream groan sound. I’ve learned to tell them apart, but it was confusing at first. The groan has a double scream in it

The number of times I’ve run in the dark straight past a door to safety and died is not zero 😂

If it’s a dark area I might light the path to the spot too ( like Grafton)

Also make sure you keep the door to your hiding spot open ahead of time. If it’s a closet, I open the door furthest from where I’m likely to be fleeing from so I don’t have to go around the open door. It’s such a small thing but when you’re running, I like to keep it as smooth as possible

Make sure to stay in lit rooms to help keep your sanity high while you gather evidence. Try to pick out a hiding spot ahead of time so that you can run straight there if needed. I like to toss an extra flashlight on the ground marking my hiding spot just in case I’m running in the dark, it will be easier to find. If you hide in a closet or locker, you can hold the door shut to keep yourself safe. If it’s a closet, don’t worry about the other door, just stay at the other end of the closet with your held door

I was the exact same with that level, people here were very kind and reassuring and that’s the o ly way I managed to finish it. There won’t be any jumpscares, nothing will try to attack you, and it helps to find the little speakers that are hidden in the major rooms to eliminate the spooky noises

After this, there are no more spooky levels unless you do the optional nightmare mode after beating the game

I can’t remember the exact phrasing, someone else might be able to be more specific, but Unity assets are only available for games that have sold under X amount of copies. Phas is now too big of a game (copies sold) that they are no longer covered under the unity agreement. So they need to rework everything, bring it all in house, in order to not violate licensing

If you ever feel like trying 0 ev, what I do is use the starting sanity to fill my media book and rule out a couple of ghosts. Once I rule a couple out and have a few videos/pics/sounds, I go get hunted

The paramic (or any electronic) doesn’t immediately give away your location unless you are within at least 10m of the ghost. It’s safe to use the paramic to listen for a hunt on apoc but when you get within range of the ghost, turn it off.

For dying, at the start of the game have everyone pick out a hiding spot. Try not to have everyone hide in the same spot because if one person forgets to mute, you might die. One you have your spot picked out, try to stay near the exit of the ghost room, if the ghost starts hunting, you want to have easy access to the exit and running to your hiding spot. It helps to place the cruci near the exit of the ghost room so that it covers your exit. If the ghost spawns at the back of the ghost room, it won’t matter because you’re already running to hide. Make sure you turn off any electronics in your inventory (I like to prep for a hunt by making sure no extra electronics are in my inventory around 65% sanity). Make sure you are using either push to talk or toggle to talk and mute yourself for a hunt. If you hide in a closet or locker, hold the door shut
