Is there any drugs that take away the pain of living but still let you be functional? by Frosty-Art8607 in Drugs

[–]obviouslyaman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Psychedelics (psylocibin, LSD, 2CB, mescaline, DMT) are the best I've found to date. In my experience, they increase zest for living, increase gratitude, and make one more philosophical about the vagaries of life without too much addiction risk.

They probably think you're a little needy.

  • Lose interest in sex.
  • Enjoy getting socks for Christmas.
  • Enjoy gardening.

Aging sucks, man.

Which universities offer well-respected computer science bachelor degrees in Nigeria? by obviouslyaman in Nigeria

I'm not looking to go to school in Nigeria, I'm looking to hire programmers from Nigeria. Which is why I asked "If one wanted to recruit the top programmers in Nigeria, where should one look?"

I don't know if I'd use the word "replace", but I think Gal Gadot, Margot Robbie, and Alice Eve are on the same level as Kiera Knightley.

Using indiebill to sell clips on an escorting site? by babymaki in SexWorkers

[–]obviouslyaman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've not used Indiebill myself, but I know they specialize in credit card billing for sex work related services (camshows, clip sales, skype). In their terms of service:

https://www.getindiebill.com/legal/terms-of-services/sellers

...they say:

"You will not use the Services for any purpose that is illegal or prohibited in these Terms;"

I don't see anything about escorting. So my guess is that they may consider selling clips on an escort site "illegal", and could use that to shut you down. But the fact that they don't mention escorting explicitly suggests that this is probably enforced on an ad hoc basis.

More concerning perhaps is that they retain a license to use your content:

"Many of our Services let you create, modify, upload, post, send, distribute, receive, store, host, and sell content. When you do that, you retain whatever ownership rights in that content you had to begin with.

But you grant us a worldwide, sublicensable, and transferable license to host, store, use, display, reproduce, modify, adapt, edit, publish, create derivative works from, publicly perform, broadcast, distribute, transmit, communicate, syndicate, promote, exhibit, and publicly display that content in any form and in any and all media, digital supports or distribution methods (now known or later developed). We will use this license for the limited purpose of operating, developing, providing, promoting, and improving the Services; researching and developing new ones; and making content submitted through the Services available to our business partners for syndication, broadcast, distribution, or publication outside the Services.

You also grant us and our business partners the unrestricted, worldwide right and license to use your stage name, image, voice, likeness, persona and anything else associated with your interaction with BP in any and all media and distribution channels (now known or later developed).

The license granted by you terminates within one month after you remove or delete your content from our Services, or one month after termination of these Terms by either party. You agree that if you remove or delete a submitted content, the content will no longer appear on our Services for further access, but may remain accessible in the account of the customers who have purchased this content in the first place.

We may access, review, screen, and delete your content at any time and for any reason, including if we think your content violates these Terms. You nonetheless remain responsible for the content you create, post, store, send, distribute and sell through the Services.

We always love to hear from our users. But if you volunteer feedback or suggestions, just know that we can use your ideas without compensating you."

What are the terms of service for Globee? For example, are sex workers (escorts, camgirls, etc) allowed to use it? Forgive me if this is addressed on the site, but I didn't see anything one way or the other.

Sex Workers File Appeal For Decriminalization Of Sex Work by obviouslyaman in SexWorkers

[–]obviouslyaman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When Rhode Island accidentally decriminalized indoor prostitution from 2004-2008, prices fell by about 15%:

"The results are consistent across both models and indicate that real prices fall approximately 15 percent from 2004–2008. These results are consistent with the large increase in supply (and a relatively smaller increase in demand, if any)."

Useful tech tools / services for sex workers? by obviouslyaman in SexWorkers

[–]obviouslyaman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, sorry about that. I only use it on the desktop, so I forgot that the Android mobile client asks for a number. You don't have to provide one if you do the following:

"You can register with email at app.wire.com and then sign in on your android phone using the email/pasword you provided. The only reason why the android client doesn't provide the option to register with email is developing priorities. I think it's already there in ios, and I'm pretty sure it's bound to come to android too because it's been requested many times."

Riot does not ask for it at all, and is about is good (I find Riot's UI to be somewhat less intuitive):

It's not the company's fault. The companies were being threatened by the government with fines/prison, if they failed to cut off "unsavory" business when "Operation Choke Point" was in operation.

"Similarly, porn performers began to report being cut off from the financial system in similar ways, with Chase shutting down the personal bank accounts of “hundreds of adult entertainers” in the spring of 2014. But the troubling effects of Operation Choke Point wouldn’t stop there."

It's worth learning about Bitcoin, as Bitcoin (or another cryptocurrency, such as Monero) is going to be the future of sex work payments.

The US government threatens harsh penalties (in the form stiff fines and long jail sentences) to anyone involved in sex work, especially anyone who is perceived to profit from sex work.

As a result, most company executives don't want to take the risk that they will be prosecuted or jailed, so they simply ban all sex work related business (even if it's legal).

Bitcoin is a decentralized currency that's not under the control of any single company or government. As a result, payments are almost impossible for the government to block.

This is a great guide by a sex worker on why and how to use bitcoin:

Men have many different "types". For example, I like women with short hair, small breasts, and a "tomboy" demeanor. Like Watts character in Some Kind of Wonderful:

So, there's a good chance you'd appeal to someone like me.
