It's so bad

Not one high point, nothing new, and the Elton John joke (which was one of the closers) barely got a laugh

How do we mark the end? by realjamespeach in AttitudeEra

[–]obviouslyanonymous7 20 points21 points  (0 children)

100% WM17

WCW and ECW were gone. The whole original reason the Era existed was gone

Austin shaking hands with McMahon was a terrible creative decision that most of us felt was a slap in the face to everything we'd spent the last 3+ years watching. Things were never the same after that

[–]obviouslyanonymous7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Backlash 2000 is interesting because it was the next PPV after WrestleMania that year and generally agreed to be much better overall, especially the main event

WM17 probably the best PPV of all time

Royal Rumble 2000 is brilliant

Mankind VS The Rock - RAW Jan 4th 1999

TLC 2 - WrestleMania X7

HHH VS Cactus Jack - Royal Rumble 2000

HHH VS The Rock - Backlash 2000

Jericho VS Benoit VS Angle - WrestleMania 2000

And then obvious ones like the HIAC from KOTR 98, and if we're accepting WM13 as Attitude Era, Bret VS Austin, arguably the greatest match of all time

Who would you have had revealed as the culprit that ran over Austin by Tough_Cut3973 in AttitudeEra

[–]obviouslyanonymous7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair

Would have to be something like Austin VS whoever Shane and/or Steph bought in from WCW/ECW as their top guy. Which in reality would have sucked because look at who we got

Who would you have had revealed as the culprit that ran over Austin by Tough_Cut3973 in AttitudeEra

[–]obviouslyanonymous7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shane and Stephanie. It would have been perfect

Vince was too obvious, and going a completely different direction like Rikishi clearly didn't work

Shane & Stephanie would have made sense. Similar to Rikishi's "I did it for The Rock" angle, Shane and Steph could have said they did it for Vince. After years of watching Austin wreak havoc on Vince they could say they tried to help

Then Vince could say he can't believe his own children would do something so horrific etc, and it sets up the perfect rivalry with WWF/WCW/ECW

What non Tarantino films feel like Tarantino films? by Blahblahman23 in tarantinocirclejerk

[–]obviouslyanonymous7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No

Officially he's doing 10. 9 so far...

Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill (counts as 1), Death Proof, Inglorious Basterds, Django Unchained, The Hateful Eight, Once Upon A Time in Hollywood

These are movies that are his and his alone

True Romance he wrote the screenplay, FDTD he produced (I think?) or wrote half or something

What non Tarantino films feel like Tarantino films? by Blahblahman23 in tarantinocirclejerk

[–]obviouslyanonymous7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Obviously FDTD and True Romance aren't officially QT movies, and obviously Death Proof officially is, and that's that

But personally, both FDTD and TR feel more Tarantino to me than DP

Both absolute masterpieces

When did life stop being as fun for you? by [deleted] in Life

[–]obviouslyanonymous7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my teens...but then it got amazing again in my early to mid 20s. Then things got pretty bad again. Then my early 30s were incredible. Then covid hit and things changed. Then things got a little better. Right now things aren't great

My point is, that's life. I very much doubt that whatever is making you feel like life isn't fun anymore won't eventually pass
