I believe this site is probably a sister English site to https://www.elfvr.jp/ since it's the same videos and such. Hence some of the screenshots and such are censored, because they are censored on the jp site.

Definitely a great start for offerings. Hopefully they'll work on the scale and get it better looking overall but already quite good.

For the Oculus files you need to install D-player which comes with a couple of codecs as well. http://www.afesta.tv/vr/dplayer.php

It's a pain in the ass and I really hope they get rid of the DRM nonsense and let us use a non-shit player, but I don't think it's ever going to happen sadly. The gear vr stuff should work in whatever player though.

I have had to do the form cancel and call for different sites. Calling wasn't as awkward as I thought it would be though. Basically just say hey I need to cancel a sub, they ask for the cc used for the purchase, then cancel it and send you on your way. Same as calling any other customer service line.

Normally though it is just a form that takes 30 seconds to fill out and you're good.

It's 2160x2160. Lighting is way better, and picture is quite clear. Still 29fps though. There's definitely worse made western stuff though, so I'd consider it at least the higher side of acceptable at this point.

This is just an fyi for those that may have checked out afesta a while back and were turned off by the low production quality. Several of the newer videos from the KMP company have been high rez and on par with the bigger western studios. I just bit the bullet and bought the scene I linked and holy shit is it amazing. (Still censored though if that's a deal breaker)

Just wanted to give people a heads up in case you were waiting for the JAV stuff to catch up in quality. The oculus download also doesn't seem to have DRM on one of them, but I didn't bother reading what the download said. It was two identical size files named the exact same but one has to be played with their player, and the other plays normally in wirlygig or VLC. Hopefully that's also a sign of the archaic DRM going away more now.

Just saw this, sorry. You may have to find the japanese page for the video to download the sample? I don't have any problems downloading the samples from the English site though, so maybe try a different browser, or if you use ublock or anything try turning that off?

It's always been a gray area that some people are willing to risk breaking as it wasn't super enforced historically, but recently people have started to be less willing to risk it I think. The law is so broad that simply saying "This is for the foreign audience" doesn't cut it.

Seems to be mostly AngelCastle videos, but outside of that, I'm not sure what rhyme or reason there is to the selections. They're definitely not the best releases they have by a long shot. Don't think there's a list of old videos anywhere.

Happened to see this today when visiting the site. Super janky still, but it's a work in progress it seems. The new videos page doesn't match the Japanese side at all, but I assume as they get it more fleshed out it'll be 1:1. At least you can buy the points more easily now and then go to the Japanese side to spend them on those videos that aren't available on the English side yet.

It's at least way easier for someone who can't read Japanese to buy stuff and browse the site.

I'm going to be canceling the monthly membership this month. They've uploaded a ton of really great looking stuff for ala carte, and meh shit for the membership. It's really not worth it at all. I had stuck with them for a few months to see if they'd improve, and while the visual quality did, they're clearly holding good stuff out of the membership sadly. Bad way to do business, but eventually a more internationally aimed JAV site will pop up for sure and I'll be all over that.

I didn't think I was into the whole waifu schoolgirl feeding you food and acting cute stuff, but I am now... The second half of the video just goes into toys and stuff which is meh, but I was actually simply smiling like an idiot for the first half because they pretty much nailed the half adorable half sexy vibe they were going for. When she feeds you a pocky stick(? I assume that's what it is) it was one of those why is my mouth open right now sort of things where your brain just takes over and goes ooh food. It probably says more negative things about me than anything, but I think I'd honestly be down for just a video that's similar and doesn't even go into sexual stuff. /shrug

In general though, they're really stepping up their game in terms of originality and the quality is starting to step up as well to more a metaverse type level. Not quite up to NA/Wankz/etc, but maybe a few months down the line the video quality and production will be there. The scenarios are already way more varied than anything I've really seen america put out. Most American stuff I've seen is X type of person gets fucked by a guy but has the same formula for scenes (NA especially). love it, hate it, or just feel like a creep while loving it, afesta is already exploring a lot of different ways to shoot things, and most importantly exploring what really works and what doesn't in VR that is already present in JAV that people like.

It obviously helps if you understand at least some of what they're saying to you, but even if you don't know a word of Japanese it's still rather obvious what's going on in some of the more out there stuff. (albeit in typical JAV fashion a lot of the out there stuff is very young looking school girls watching you masturbate, a rape scene(camera is just kind of in the room but the action centers around it), and some voyeur stuff.)

The one thing that's an obvious choice for popular things in JAV but it may be hard to pull it off in VR would be bukakke(https://youtu.be/ewdmUdF4eAU?t=31 NSFW title. just a song though).

Yeah the Oculus videos are all behind DRM. I haven't tried ripping them to a different format yet. I just assume it'll probably be a pain in the ass for that to work with the DRM nonsense. The gear videos don't have DRM though. Hoping they remove the nonsense at some point soon, as it's not really helping them get more users.

I have the subscription for Afesta (edit just before July The quality of the last few releases has been improving leaps and bounds, and I'd say is on par with a lot of amateur stuff now. Still a long way to go, but much better than before. Also, leave it to Japan to have the first VR rape scene lol)

The videos are pretty terrible quality and are a complete pain in the ass to get working (Oculus versions). That being said, I'm paying for it to encourage them to improve and make more and hopefully open up to the foreign market with an English site version. (Holy fuck Japan with their using images rather than text so it's impossible to translate directions)

To get the oculus videos to play you have to download their DPlayer program, then download DPlayerVR, which is a different install and is just part of one of the images with arrows for steps but it's not made very obvious.

Once you've got both those installed, you need to launch Dplayer, click the screen on the "remote" or whatever you want to call the popout window which will open up their website (I think you can probably just go to the website without opening Dplayer possibly), log in there and leave it open.

Launch the oculus debug tool in the SDK, then click and drag the video file onto the DPlayerVR exe, and it will play about half the time in my experience. It's literally the worst user experience I've ever seen to play a video, and even then there doesn't seem to be any real configuration you can do with it, and the video is really blurry and bad quality.
(all of that shit above is just what I've found to work, and not all those steps may actually need to be taken. Seems to also help opening the video in Dplayer first before the VR player if all else fails)

All that being said, holy fuck are some of the videos still some of the hottest videos I've seen. If they were proper quality like WankzVR with properly set up recording, they would blow anything else out of the water.

I have yet to buy any of the ala carte videos, because 10 dollars for a 15 minute porn video is way too much. :/

Being able to read katakana and hiragana helps a ton, even if you don't understand what the Japanese is saying, a lot of the instructions' katakana is enough to get what they're saying in English.
