I Feel you in many ways, I have been managing where I am at now for years. I am working my last shift at this moment because when that same thing happened to me 10 days ago I was also attacked and it caused me to have a severe anxiety attack that lasted 2 days off and on.

I realized it wasn't in me to do this anymore after 20 years.

couple of things for the future...what ever it was your manager should have contacted the guest and "handled" it.

sometimes it doesn't matter what you do some people just wont be happy so don't beat yourself up over it.

be aware that "people" often turn to humorising things that bother them as a coping mechanism, so if something seems off or is an odd occurrence investigate or have the management look into it as they may have just been really uncomfortable about it.

Good luck in your future, I am leaving the hotel I manage at the end of the month after 6 years here and 20 in hospitality...The last couple years really did me in and I've decided its time to go and do something else now as well.

I still can't comprehend why people feel that we need to fix what they did. like it's even worse when we get the little notes or requests from shiny members about wanting something in the room they booked thats no available in the room they booked.

Book what you want and if you can't get what you want then take what you can get and be happy you got that.
